Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments Yes! Murder most royal featured a priest-type figure (not a major character, but I don't think the challenge asked for that, lol)

message 2602: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Great. :))

message 2603: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments I'll be reading Magic Bites tomorrow, which will work for page count 😁

message 2604: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Awesome. :)

message 2605: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments I think after Henry V, my next listen will be A Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which could work for page count &animal on cover.

message 2606: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments Nice!

that one came up in the audible sale, but decided I'll get it in the same format as the others instead.

message 2607: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Yes, I stumbled upon it on the Audible sale and it was too good a deal for me to miss (or at least I remember that was what I told myself at the time. ;).

@Mel: are you at risk of innundation? :( keep safe!

message 2609: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments ♡ Thank you, Cat.

Not directly, no, as we are living outside Budapest (our small lake is no threat). My workplace is close to the Danube, but so far it doesn't seem to be under threat.

The peak is expected tomorrow, buy we don't have it as bad as Austria & Czechia. (fingers crossed it won't get any worse)

message 2610: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments Glad to hear it Mel, stay safe!

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments Adios to Dios...

Vorbis, the Exquisitor

1 200-299
2 An X or Q in the title
3 word TORTOISE in text
4 tagged Gods at least 5x
5 there is character development in the plot (your interpretation)

message 2613: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Domi's reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid, it works for the 200-299 page range. :) I'll check tomorrow if a stray tortoise has hidden among the pages or not. :)

message 2614: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10123 comments Mod
Awesome! And fingers crossed for a random chelid!

message 2615: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments I would say if not I can read Esio Trot, but the page count isn't high enough for Turf! 😆

message 2616: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments No tortoise seems to live inside the Wimpy Kid pages. :(

I have found 2 books on my TBR shelf that would work, but first I need to read the other 3 I've put on the ss. If only my workplace wouldn't expect me to work ... 😅

message 2617: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments I'm almost done with the Tolkien letters, which I'm loving!

Are we going by the "no characters in non-fiction" rules, or can I use Tolkien as being in a teaching profession?

message 2618: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments I think you should. ,)

message 2619: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10123 comments Mod
I haven't a problem with that :)

- Page number is a multiple of 50

- Tagged tentacles at least 1

- fire important to plot
purple cover

- An X or Q in the title
word TORTOISE in text

message 2622: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments I've got nothing coming up for those in the next 3 days or so, but I have a little more leeway after that 😁

message 2623: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments After I finished my current 3 books, I can do Tortoise in text, but will leave it empty in case someone stumbles upon one unexpectedly. 😊

message 2624: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments I've got an X in title book coming up in the next batch. Won't be tomorrow, but it'll be read within the week. 😁

message 2625: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Just realised that The Thief has "tortoise" in text while my audiobook works for Mythology, so updated the ss..:)

Butcher & Blackbird (The Ruinous Love Trilogy, #1) by Brynne Weaver

I'm guessing not purple?

back from a long weekend in Barcelona (lovely, until coming home when I spent more than 3 hours sitting in the plane at the departure gate stand. not fun). Will have a proper look for books to fill a task or two now

message 2627: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Purplish, just not enough.

Sitting in a plane for 3 hours??!!! Ugghhhh!

message 2628: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments Seems more of a magenta flavour to me...

Glad you had a good time, but boo! for delays!

message 2629: by Sammy (last edited Sep 24, 2024 04:14AM) (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments Ohhh, just got a good look at the cover of the audio I just finished!

Dying Light (Logan McRae, #2) by Stuart MacBride

Purple enough? The whole thing seems to have a tinge to me, but that may just be my wonky eyesight, lol.

message 2630: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Not enough, Sammy. :(

message 2635: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments score!

I found a couple of umbrellas too, but unfortunately they're no fit for monsters! 😢

message 2636: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Done away with Galatea, going spinning now. 😊

Melindam | 8386 comments Prince Cadram
1. 200-299
2. MC is royalty
3. Letters in DESERT in the title
4. features an assassination

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments My current book covers desert 😁

message 2639: by Melindam (new)

message 2640: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments And if nobody else beats me to it, I can cover MC is royalty when I re-read the Penelopiad in a few days 😁

message 2641: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a godsend. Drew Domi out of his reading slump. He's enjoying it very much. 🥰

message 2642: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments Dang, Sammy, stop reading books that I want to go and read right away!! 😅

message 2643: by Sammy (new)

So glad to hear it!

message 2645: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8386 comments I think I need to spend my extra credit on the Tolkien letters anyway, but will wait for your judgement before committing to Tolkien in the Twenty-First Century: The Meaning of Middle-Earth Today.

message 2646: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments Not very far into it yet, so can't say if it's worth it yet - it is in the UK plus catalogue, so is only costing me time anyway 😁

The letters, definitely yes!

Joe is loving the Rowley spooky stories by the same author if you can find it.

Glad you made it back Cat! That aeroplane sit is not one to be repeated though if the plane isn't moving.

Right the tentacle tags are entirely tentacle porn and I'm really not up for that! Anyone willing to volunteer?

message 2650: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13025 comments I would, but probably not until after turf wars, which is gonna be a while!
