Mandrake

3 MPG Romance
4 Fertility important to plot (your interpretation)
5 Purple cover (>50%)

Let me know how you like it. :)
I preferred Spring of the Ram to it, but it was still a 4-star-read for me.
I have already purchased Unicorn Hunt, but feel a bit reluctant to waste a U-book in case there may be a Wheel-challenge some time in the autumn. :D

I'm enjoying it so far, though there has to be a lot of suspension of disbelief over how clever Niccolo is, with all his planning!
I'm about to buy To Lie with Lions to continue to Niccolo spread. I'd be amazed if you guys don't finish the series before me.

I happened to post my politely-worded doubts about this hotness-issue on the DD Society FB page and that caused quite a lot of pearl clutching. ;)
He's got that massive scar on his face!
I'd mentally put his irresistibility down to his bod and mind. Brains and humour being generally agreed to be alluring.
And then once he's bedded them he has Skillz, of course !
At the moment everyone is more excited about how gorgeous bastard King James is...

I'm on another 1000+ now if it comes up 😁
I finished a purple cover, and spun the Greek wheel:
Mares of Diomedes
1 200 to 299
2 Fire on the cover
3 character gets poisoned (food poisoning is acceptable, does not have to be fatal)
4 Title contains all the letters of HERA
5 Goodreads rating between 3 and 3.5 (inclusive)

and am reading the next Niccolo book, which is set in Africa - Mel, Sophie, you can confirm it's more than 50% in Africa, right?

Ooof that's a ridiculous amount. I've just admitted to myself that while my mum's paperback copies have sentimental value, the text is just too small and densely packed and I should buy them.
I'll see whether I can talk to Mr Sophie about whether there is a way to share the copies of the later ones (To Lie With Lions on) with you.

Grendal's Mother has been slain.
Ropen has come out of the woodwork instead:
100 to 175
Light source on cover
Letters in REOPEN in Title
Author name starts with PN or G
MC goes outside at night
The other open tasks are:
Fire on the cover
Goodreads rating between 3 and 3.5 (inclusive)
open plain on cover
10 in page count

Crazy.
Thank you, Sophie. ♡ That's so very kind, but not necessary. ♡
I am planning to buy the later copies as I get to each book in the series (but deff not for 38 or 43 usd!). :))

Believe it or not, but I actually have the pagecount covered !!

1.

there is a lamp (though it's not lit, I think) on the cover - are we OK with it as light source?
2.

I know it's pushing it, but Domi and I are reading it as it is a compulsory book for the upcoming school year (it is very good, but I think it is not for 10-year-olds - but obviously rigid, stupid school curricula doesn't care!) and maybe, just maybe it could be OK for "plain on cover"? (I know it's not very open. )

The Sagan Diary by John Scalzi is 3.33. I read it during Book Games so wouldn't reread, but it's 100 pages and I thought was much better than that ranking.
oh! just checked my book I finished this morning (on the basis that actually it wasn't great) : 3.01!
but it was on a Turf list, so there's that!

I just checked my tbr and the lowest I had was 3.51, naturally 😆
Yay! Ticking off things on so many lists!
I've just come across this and had to share:
There’s a rhyming Italian expression for saying “take it or leave it” that goes o mangi questa minestra o salti dalla finestra. It means “either eat this soup or throw yourself out the window”.

Do you ladies have a favorite Discworld Monster you'd like me to use for the picture?
The wheel will go up in the next few days so I can put the links in the Sept newsletter.
I'm not nearly that invested or knowledgeable about the different monsters, so whatever pic you'd like I'm happy to use.
