Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Btw, if we get a book that needs a whale, or an otter, let me know. I just got one from KU about a orca shifter that spends some time in the water in his other form.

I'm just waiting for a time I don't pass out asleep as soon as I am comfortable to read it :D

I would not have known which way to vote on that one!

I'd have thrown some points at Karl, but beause I set myself a 1 hour wait rule for ending the round after posting sponsor points (because otherwise I could just throw points at my faves and quickly close, which isn't really fair), it was going to be far too long past my bed-time.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Oh I know... I would not enjoy it, but I know who would have won.

There are a few battles that will be really bloody ahead.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Well, that Bunyip wasn't much trouble, spun literary instead and got:

Morlocks (HG Wells)

1 175-225
2 MPG Time travel
3 Page number is a prime number
4 Grey cover
5 A sequel or next in series with more than 5 year gap

message 2255: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Are you still wanting the "8 in series number" task Sophie?

I'm starting Maskerade on Monday, which is #18 in the Discworld series.

If it was something you were wanting to read, I'm sure I'll fit it somewhere else when the time comes, but if only reading for the task, I can cover 😊

Prioritising for the task so happy for it to be bumped.

message 2257: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Okie dokie 😊

message 2258: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8381 comments Domi will be reading Why Beethoven Threw the Stew. The HU version is 157 pages which works for prime number.

message 2259: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8381 comments Sammy,

How would you feel about a swap? :)

I checked on Amazon that your The Crimson Petal and the White has "Mars" in text . For the 651+ pages, I'll finish a book tomorrow at the latest.

message 2260: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Sounds good to me 😁

message 2261: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8381 comments Thanks, I will do the swap, then. :))

message 2262: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Awesome. I have a "the team that reads the longest books wins" challenge coming up in a few days, so holding off until then with that one, lol.

message 2263: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Vexing. If I'd read the paperback version of A Change of Climate, it would have been a grey cover, but the audio has too high a % of black *sigh*

I finished a book that works for the page count for Triffid's, which would complete that set at the price of bumping Domi's Harry Potter. Thoughts?

I'm about to finish a grey cover so will slot it in when I get Roy d to updating everything.

yes, that's what I thought, too. 😊

Melindam | 8381 comments My battle book fits "set in USA", but if someone finishes something sooner, then feel free kick mine out.

message 2270: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments I got nothing at the moment. Just trying to finish the BOM, and will be starting Maskerade shortly for the other task. At least that should be a quick read 😁

message 2271: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8381 comments Just realised that my Paul Newman Memoir also fits the USA task and I'll finish it sooner than the battle book.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments dang! finished The Book that Wouldn't Burn last night. That would have fit the page count.

works for me!

message 2284: by Melindam (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Awesome, thanks. Only just got to a computer and have some catching up to do! lol.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments I'm just about to start on The House in the Cerulean Sea. Blurb says it's set on an island. Has anyone read it? If yes, would you say it's a tropical island?

message 2287: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yes I read it. No, it's not tropical

message 2288: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Dang! Not gonna work for that slot then, lol.

That's a bit of a consolation. I have started disliking Jeffrey Dean Morgan ... a lot... LOL

It's a shame Corfu is not a tropical island, either.

Sammy, have you reached A Caribbean Mystery in your AC reading spree yet? 😉

message 2293: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments I haven't yet, though I have it as a print copy and have a couple of those lined up to read already. If nobody else has anything for it I might get around to it in a week to 10 days...

In the meantime, loving my Maskerade re-read right now :D

Not sure I would call it tropical. I cannot remember if there is a huge description of the outside. But there definitely was no "hanging out on the beach."

Maskerade is one of my favourites! Currently have The Fifth Elephant on the go and 2 Pratchett at once is not a good plan.

Use it as an incentive to get through the battle book. Get it out of the way and it can be Pratchett time! 😁
