It's in the title information text on GR which tends to be what I look for to say it's a subtitle.

Cat, can I have your opinion to confirm yes?

Pretty sure that the only way we'd make this work without using The Hound of the Baskerville's is if we use the post colon bit. So I'm on board

Great People, Great Business: Your HR handbook for creating a business that’s ready to scale and grow Doesn't work!! Someone go tell Karen she needs to tweak her title and throw a V in there 😆

My latest read they went to an amusement park at the end of the pier! Finally cleared that one so Cat's maybe can fill in somewhere else.

I just got an email saying I got an ARC of Devil's Own - I'll restrain posting photos because.. yeah... all ages group and all.

I loved reading the WIP chapters on the author's patreon. It might be my favorite book in the series. So yeah. Happy Bookish Dance happening right now.

Oracle (Chosen Champions, #5) by Macy Blake

Too bad lettering is white instead of silver

message 1568: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Grabbed a few, including the 650+ one, as I have another 900 pager coming up.

Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1) by Alice Clayton

I'm leaning towards this being a grey cover

I say it works for light grey. :)

Melindam | 8375 comments Domi has started reading a book that is book 2 in a trilogy Klott Gatya, ne fárassz! by Viktória Bosnyák , so we put it down there, but he may be some time about it, so it can be moved to silver text or should we need a brown cover later, it will keep. :)

But he was very proud to see his name added to the list. Thank you, Lovelies! 🥰

Melindam | 8375 comments I put my The Subtle Knife for the tagged angels task, but feel free to kick it out (would work for trilogy task as well) as I will only finish after 1 April to count for an UNO colour card.

Will finish Genghis Khan and Cat Among the Pigeons soon(ish), so next week at the latest, but everything else can be removed (tagged dog / tagged angel), if someone has something coming up sooner.

message 1573: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments My next up book works for absolutely nothing. sounds about right. will be on the 900-pager after that.

message 1574: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments This is silver, right? I zoomed the heck of it and it looked like, but it is too soon for the coffee to have hit.

message 1575: by Melindam (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Melindam wrote: "Sure is!"

Cool. I'll read it next to get rid of that pesky loup-garou.

message 1577: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Actually, that pretty blue colour is worth saving up.

I'll read There's A Bat In My Room! instead. Way shorter, and with pretty silver letters. It might be the push I need to get back to the Elwood Chronicles.

Melindam | 8375 comments Having an utterly shitty week, but I started listening to To Say Nothing of the Dog and while at this point I am not sure if it's Stephen Crossly's narration (whom I love) or the book itself or a combination, but I laughed and laughed and it made my heart a bit lighter.

Currently it's included in the audible+ catalogue and I am very happy I am giving it a try. (I was a bit cautious after ending up not liking St Mary's - sorry about that!! 😥)

message 1579: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments 😢 Sucks that your week isn't going well. Hope it improves soon!

message 1580: by Melindam (last edited Mar 26, 2024 06:47AM) (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Well... last week we found out, totally out of the blue, that my mum has a tumor.
And we can be thankful that she will be operated on already next week (owing to my aunt being an anesthesiologist who could arrange it at the hospital she's working at, otherwise it would be either paying through the nose for private treatment or waiting ... I don't even want to count how many months ....) and then all the stuff ... post-treatment, depending on what's needed... I am just still struggling with the impact of it all.

message 1581: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Oh goodness, that's awful, but so lucky you can get it seen to quickly. It really makes a huge difference.
I hope everything goes well. In the meantime, sending lots of hugs your way.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Silver text did the trick, the Loup Garou is not more.

Is time to join our favorite grey/white wizard and scream "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" to the pesky Balrog!

350-400
Horns or antlers on cover
"Deep" in title or series name
3 and 7 in page count
Red text on cover

Melindam | 8375 comments ❤️Thank you, Sophie!

Yes, we are doing just that. I will go down with her to the city (approx 120 miles from where we live) where she'll have the operation next Wednesday and will stay there until Sunday.

Good thing is that it is my aunt's hometown and we have quite a few relations and friends there, so she'll get constant attention as soon as it's allowed to visit her and of course my aunt will check on her every day as long as she's there.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Sophie, are you reading for the Time travel task because you want to, or just to fill the slot? I'm about to start on a MPG time travel, but it's also 500+ pages, so could be useful for that too if anything pops up with that page count in the next couple of days. 😆

I'm happy to put it wherever.

Also Mel, I just finished one with MPG Angels which happens to also have a graveyard on the cover. Happy to swap them out or not depending on whether you want to read those anyway or not 😁

I am happy for you to do any swapping/removing with my books. :)

message 1594: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Awesome! glad you're enjoying it, because it bodes well for my reading them over the next few days, lol!

message 1595: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. It was recommended to me after I tried, but found I had no chemistry with St Mary's.
But super happy with all the (for me) delicious and funny literary references and the leisurely plot. To me it's a bit like a crossover bw Wilde and Wodehouse with time travel. :)
And also mentioned to you how I love Stephen Crossley as the narrator (sorry ;)

message 1596: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Apparently Doomsday book is much "heavier", but I am waiting for your opinion about it, too, as I want to try it as well. :)

It's St Mary's so I want to read it, but the Baskervilles book is non-fiction so slower going than most of mine.

I suspect you'll finish first unless the kids suddenly get very quiet.

message 1599: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Quiet kids? What are those when they're at home? 😆

I'll see you your noisy kids, and raise you a noisy 21-y-o (complete with loud, booming voice) and an even noisier husband. Who is always in the same smegging room! ARGH! lol.

Can you tell I'm ready to move somewhere bigger? lol.

I'll let you know! Haven't started it yet (because hubby has been on the phone for the past hour, lol), but will some point today.
