He won't be much around, but I am hoping that this gives a boost to his reading enthusiasm. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜Š

Melindam | 8381 comments Nucleus of the Swarm has been swept away, Domi spun the wheel for us (so, yes, I am totally hiding behind his back) and got us a tall order.. . YIKES! Sorry!! ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ

WEEPING ANGELS
1. 800+
2. cemetery or a gravestone on the cover
3. Tagged Angel(s) or Demon(s) (at least 10 times)
4. "blink" in text
5. MPG Time Travel

message 1509: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Hi Domi!
Welcome to the fun

message 1510: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Angel and demons is pretty easy, as is the cemetery/gravestone and the blink.

I'll leave the 800+ pages to braver readers. And time travel... yeah... Not for me. Is Outlander time travel? That would knock those two. Not that I plan on reading it, because... time travel.

message 1511: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Btw, I know I have been scarce lately, but I yesterday I got my annual review, and not only was I bumped up to senior consultant category, I also got a nice raise to go with it.

I know I worked for it, but it felt sooooooo nice. I think I'm still processing. LOL

Sophie (drsophie) | 5692 comments Mod
Yay! Well done Sonia and v well deserved.

Good news on the spin is that the 800p+ task was changed to be over 650p a while back; so still long but more manageable.

If no one else gets the time travel by the time I can get there, I'm happy for a St Mary's read.

message 1516: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8381 comments Oh, I forgot about that 800+ leniency. Then I may get something going there. :)

message 1517: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments ooooohhhh My current anthology is 688 pages. I just need to finish it.

Unless I decide to use the story that they meet at a food fair, that has a ferris wheel and other rides for the amusement park.

message 1518: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Thanks.

I'm stoked!

After some negotiation, I'm also rewarding myself with the new FF VII Rebirth.

ABOUT TIME! ๐Ÿ˜ Congrats sweetie! ๐Ÿฅฐ

message 1521: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments I should be finishing A Court of Wings and Ruin today, after which I'll be reading On The Plain Of Snakes: A Mexican Journey, which is perfect for the Mexico/Southern US task ๐Ÿ˜

message 1522: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Also, did anyone else here actually ever watch the Doctor Who episode "Blink"? (I'm guessing not Sonia!)

That was the first thing to scare me since watching the Daleks as a little kid. And I've had quite the horror habit over the years, lol.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13023 comments Glad you enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Domi. Have you tried The Witches yet? That one was always my favourite Roald Dahl book.

message 1525: by Dominomaj (new)

Dominomaj | 42 comments Now I'm reading Fantastic Mr. Fox, but The Witches is next on my list. ๐Ÿ˜Š

He is. ๐Ÿ˜Š

The reason he's hanging around so much right now is that he's home with bronchitis, poor soul, having to take antibiotics into the bargain. ๐Ÿ˜ช

They are all great! I liked Matilda too - possibly the first book that I read that was about someone who loved reading too!

My nephew, who is 8, loves them all, and the films too. Have you seen any of the films? He dressed up as The Trunchbull from Matilda recently!

You mean like this?

The page count was easy. Finding one that fit more than one task was the challenge :P

message 1541: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8381 comments Found 1 book that could work for the title, but it's a rather depressing subject, so I'll think about it.

Just a shame we can't use the series title as well, or you'd have the BASKERVILLES covered too.

Oh no Domi! Hope you feel loads better soon. I've been home sick today too.

Roald Dahl was definitely one of my favourites when I was younger. I was the same as Cat with Matilda. James and the Giant Peach was fun too.

Strange Places, Questionable People: Updated With a New Chapter on Kosovo would work if we allow the updated bit after the : which I'm dubious about.

Uhmmm... too bad we don't have a mod handy to try to convince to make some new ruling and make it public to all....
