I'm current on that series, thanks to previous UNOs :) because they are wonderful colour covers!

I'm not up to date - can any of you remember if Bedlam (Alexander Gregory Thrillers, #3) by L.J. Ross has an I character or link?

Thanks Cat! Will hold on to it for the next round when I'd hope we'll have a yellow

message 1460: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Some books have vampires being born, not turned. Those are alive too. The only shifter that I could probably go with the undead is one I stumbled on...he thought he was human. Was attacked. Died in the hospital. And it's phoenix shifter gene kicked on and return him back to life. However, I think it's more a revived character than an undead one since he's pretty much alive

My witch book is annoying me, I have a ton of paranormal books in my arsenal, it's not hard to find another.

Melindam | 8388 comments My Werewolf non-fic books tells about medieval witch-hunts and witches.

Are we good with that? I'll finish after the uno mini deadline tomorrow.

I found a ghost / undead char in my just finished book, so finished off that monster.

Spun....

O’Brian (1984)
1 200 to 299
2 MPG Classics
3 MC follows orders
4 Technology plays an important role in the plot
5 Rodent on cover (not a rabbit)

message 1463: by Sammy (last edited Mar 15, 2024 06:39AM) (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13036 comments *headdesk*

I can take follows orders, as I'm almost done with a Sharpe 😁 (and will be starting another. Next one is 261 pages)

message 1464: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments Sonia,

I have put my book in the witches slot, so we could finish this monster off.

message 1465: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments Sammy, do you still have your 700+ book?

message 1466: by Melindam (last edited Mar 15, 2024 07:20AM) (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments I took a chance with the Greek wheel and got CHARYBDIS

1. 651+
2. Author's name (first or last) starts with one of the letters in POOL
3. MC is forced to make a hard choice (your interpretation)
4. fig in title or text
5. characters take a boat trip (of any type)

message 1467: by Melindam (last edited Mar 15, 2024 07:21AM) (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments I can cover the boat trip. In my current book the MC just took the ferry from Dover.

I finished it, but have 2 more lined up for the coming week 😁

message 1469: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13036 comments it'll have to be the second of those, as the first is only 641 pages, lol.

I did finish a 655 pager this morning, but that was before this one was spun...

message 1470: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments Yikes... 😁

message 1471: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13036 comments On the up side, Ningyo should be done with in about half an hour 😁

message 1472: by Melindam (last edited Mar 15, 2024 07:28AM) (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments I can also do "fig in text" if needed, but will wait in case someone else can cover that sooner.

Saw that Sammy's onto it. I think that you might as well grab hard choice with the SJM book, Sammy. :)

message 1473: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13036 comments I suspect that will be the case, but didn't know for sure

message 1474: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13036 comments The real question is... Who is going to brave the rodent task! πŸ˜†

aha! I think there might be a boat ride (jaunt in the lake?) in Court of Wings.... so we can put that in place of Henrietta and shift her into TEARS ??

message 1486: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments I am OK with it. :)

message 1489: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'm currently reading one of the Heart2heart anthologies... Keep waiting for one of the dates to be on a rollercoaster, no luck so far. But I'm reading the paranormal one, maybe the contemporary will do the trick.

I shall see

message 1490: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments BTW, I am having so much fun with The Dark Queens (a nice balance to Hidden Figures which I put on hiatus for the time being).

While quite some part seems to be based on conjecture, the author managed to write an action-packed and very interesting story. It almost reads like fiction and yet it isn't. Quite some feat. :)

message 1491: by Melindam (last edited Mar 16, 2024 01:18AM) (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments Well done, Cat on your conquering almost all Miles books in the Vorkosigan saga! 😊

Maybe you can come up with a Vorkosigan wheel! ;)

message 1492: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13036 comments Typically, the book I just finished had ghosts in it πŸ˜†

message 1493: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments James Bond was given his marching orders by "..miraculis sancti Martini". 🀭

The Nucleus of the Swarm has swarmed us instead.

1. 350 to 450
2. 9 in page number
3. MC has a pet
4. "shrimp" or β€œprawn" in text
5. Series or title starts with K

message 1494: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13036 comments I have a mother MC coming up when I've finished the print I'm starting today, but won't claim just yet. If anyone else has one before I get to it, have at it! 😊

message 1497: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments Hello Lovely People!

You know, I told so much about GR and challenges to Domi that he asked me to ask you, if he could occasionally read a book for this challenge with us.

He asked me to register him to GR tomorrow so that he can start adding his books to GR. :D

message 1498: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5692 comments Mod
Aww, he absolutely can read for the challenge as far as I'm concerned.

Do you want us to use spoiler tags for images or are you planning to keep it as a record of his books only?

message 1499: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8388 comments No need to spoiler tag, as his English is very basic. :D

Once he registers he may come by to say hi, but it will be just adding the occasional (very occasional ;)) book.

Last year he read so little, but now suddenly he became so enthusiastic that I'll do (almost) anything to keep it going. :D
