Need to check it out.

Melindam | 8375 comments And the book also has a U-narrator!! What are the chances of that?!

LOL

Melindam | 8375 comments How do you like it, Cat?

I am thinking of buying the audiobook.

I'm enjoying it. it's not reinventing anything, but Jalaluddin has done a couple of fun spins on Austen with observant Muslim characters, which is a nice spin. so, don't go in expecting hot and steamy explicit scenes, but you will get fun characters with a reasonable balance of family-driven angst and sweet romance

The Great Christmas Knit Off by Alex Brown"

Pink and purple are both there for me

message 707: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Sounds good, Cat. :)
I am fine w/o steamy. There's enoughof that in Jilly Cooper & Ilona Andrews to last for a month. ;)

Thanks, Sophie. :)

4. MC must work with a group (your interpretation)

message 715: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10122 comments Mod
We could move Sammy's Anna K into the Audio tags (388 tags) plus LT author initials. sadly Anna is too long for the page count :(

Possibly she's got a silver bracelet too?
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

message 716: by Melindam (last edited Dec 01, 2023 05:51AM) (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Yes for silver bracelet, too :)

message 717: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments works for me!

message 718: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments I've got a few 5-600 page books lined up, but I'll hang on with adding one until I actually read it, so if anyone gets there before me, all good :)

message 719: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Fur-bearing Trout swam away, Loup-Garou sneaked in.

1. 350 to 450
2. Read a book that has been translated into French
3. Moon on cover

Yup!

message 722: by Melindam (last edited Dec 02, 2023 12:20AM) (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Goodie, it works for page count and was translated into French as well. :)

Shame about no moon on cover. :)

But of course feel free to remove it from any/all slots, if you finish books that work earlier. :)

message 723: by Melindam (last edited Dec 02, 2023 12:23AM) (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Love the French translation of Pere Porcher. :)

message 724: by Sammy (new)

Chaos Terminal (The Midsolar Murders, #2) by Mur Lafferty
I'm reading this which is
1. 384 pages
4. Mystery Thriller MPG - we happy with this?
5. two arms on cover

2. possibly - not far enough through to be 100%
3. white stars. not sure if the title is black? thoughts?

could be a one-fer

message 727: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments If you get a chase scene, feel free to remove mine :)

I think the title might be dark blue, but the text underneath it black?

message 728: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10122 comments Mod
little blurb text, black, check!

I'll put it in for 1 & 3, waiting on #4 in case Sophie or Mel object to "mystery thriller" rather than the vanilla "thriller" :)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10122 comments Mod
oh! Sammy, doesn't your Vaudeville book have a crescent moon inside the pentangle on the cover? (aka, get out of my space and fill in the moon on cover! - I'm pretty confident there's going to be some sort of chase. I've already had two characters in the air ducts!)

message 730: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments Hadn't even seen that. Too tiny on my phone, lol.

works for me!

message 731: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments No objections to #4 or any :)

New monster:

Joffrey (Game of Thrones)
1 500 to 650
2 MC is royalty
3 Title starts with a letter in CROWN
4 Gold item on cover
5 More than one death in the book

message 734: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments I chased off my brethren the Cybermen (my husband thinks I look like one, as I permanently have headphones welded to my head...).

The new spin brings us the classic:

Daleks
500 to 650
"Exterminate(d)" in text
Letters in DALEKS in title
6 and 3 in page number (started in 1963)
Xenophobia is important to plot (your interpretation)

message 735: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments We seem to be on a 500+ spree again!

message 736: by Sammy (last edited Dec 06, 2023 01:59PM) (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments And the book I'm about to start has DALEK in the title, but no S 😢

also the word "exterminator" several times. *sigh*

Cat (cat_uk) | 10122 comments Mod
I've started a south asian tagged book, so we can get rid of the long hanging about one.

message 738: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments Awesome! I read all my south asian books before we got it. Any other part of Asia, I have it covered, lol!

message 739: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Tambuakar is also finished, will spin now :)

message 740: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments It's ROPEN (again)

1. 100 to 175
2. Light source on cover
3. Letters in REOPEN in Title
4. Author name starts with PN or G
5. MC goes outside at night

message 741: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments I'll get to A Tale of Love and Darkness after I finish my cyurrent audio.

message 742: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments I will finish Hogfather by the afternoon.

One question to consider: are we OK with spinning for another Urban Legends monster or should we try a Greek one?

I am happy either way. :)

message 743: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10122 comments Mod
grabbed three of ROPEN, witha possibility of the "goes out at night" as I read.

As for next wheel? Entirely up to the spinner which they go with I reckon :)

message 744: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments OK, :))

message 745: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Decided to stuck with Urban Legends.

Next on the naughty list: BUNYIP

1. 200 to 299
2. Seal or dog on cover
3. Read a book with a ecological message/ theme (your interpretation)
4. Takes place in a rural area
5. Letter Y in title

message 746: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments Will take "rural area" and "Y" in title

message 747: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments UGH! My current book also has "DALEK" without the S in the title.

I'm putting it in 200 to 299 as there aren't many other spots for it (can go in "title starts with letter in CROWN" though, if anyone needs to move it!)

message 748: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10122 comments Mod
