5.9 – How to Save a Language

Did you know that similar to the classifications for endangered animals, there’s also one for languages? The UNESCO Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger has six categories ranging from “safe” to “extinct”, and there are concerted efforts to preserve certain languages that are deemed to be at risk. Welsh is one of these vulnerable languages that are undergoing a revival, with aims to have a million speakers of the language by 2050.

Read a book with a word of 4 or more letters in the title found in ONE MILLION WELSH SPEAKERS. Letters may be used only as often as they appear.

Required: state the word.

Yes, that works.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments Must the word be found intact, or can the word be made up of 4+ letters found in the target phrase?

for example: SPEAK is found intact (SPEAKers)

On the other hand: WISH is made from (mIllion WelSH)

The latter :) As long as you have enough of the letters in the phrase to make the word, you can use it.

Yes, that's absolutely fine.
