Got You Back question

I was a surprised/disturbed how the Katie/Owen sleeping together was depicted. So she wakes up in her underwear in bed with a man and has no memory of what has occurred as she was so drunk after her party. She queries this and he takes offence saying she came on to him (and you still got into bed with her?!) and there was nowhere else to sleep - how about her own bed or a female friend's or the floor? Why did he take her away as he was just an ex-client? She is made out to be the bad guy. And then she basically stalks him. Maybe I missed something, but it just seemed an odd message to be putting out there.
