Which is most effective: Written or Spoken versions?

So which is more compelling? Written or spoken book version. My experience was surprising. Words alone allow the reader to interpret the story with their own emotions; spoken words allow the narrator to interject emotion into the words to create a realistic experience beyond what the reader may expect or allow. This was certainly the case for me as I listened to Lou Del Bianco narrate a chapter of my book. His narration transformed me back in time to the experiences themselves. It was incredible what I felt and experienced. Together, the written and spoken versions give a complete experience of a story. Glad I decided to provide both for the reader.
