Sana Dakri | 3 comments Hi! So absolutely vague but between 2013 and maybe 2016 I remember reading a book series set in American college. I know one of the main characters had a boyfriend who gave her some sort of medallion, and I remember their eventually being magic involved and some sort of special club featuring alumni. There was also a murder/murders, a character I'm sure called Whittaker and at one point a fake name used to pick something up from a store, and I believe the name was Amanda Hold (as in.. a man to hold? As I say this was part of a series of maybe five or more books and I have absolutely no other information aside from that! So very vague so I appreciate that this may remain unsolved... But thank you all in advance!!!

Steven | 13 comments Is it “The Magicians” series that they made a show about. Or their is a book for YA that’s a twist on King Arthur books

Julia's suggestion of Private (book 1 of the Private series) by Kate Brian looks very promising.

Google Books preview: https://books.google.com/books?id=xCP...
There are different cover images.

Quotes from the book:
- Something Right
"That's all right," Whittaker replied. "Here. Let me help."
He placed one of his solid arms around me and I instantly felt more secure, less wobbly. I managed to get the top off the flask and took a long drink.
- "Got something for you," Thomas said.
He produced a small medallion from his pocked. It was bronze and had a square hole in the center. He held it up between his thumb and forefinger, looking quite pleased with himself.
... "My good luck charm. I've decided to give it to you because I no longer need luck. I have transcended luck."
