1. He performed experiments on guinea pigs and most of them died? As a loving guinea pig owner: What a monster!
2. Also as you said Jamie toying with the kids like that? Doesn't he have a heart?
3. "You've got to understand, these rules, even though they are really very correct and appropriate for young boys... and servants... and women... and even for most people in general... don't apply to real scholars, great thinkers and wise men. People like me, who entered into posession of secret knowledge, aren't subject to these ordinary rules." WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS??? Of f***ing course the rule of keeping promises applies to everybody as do all societal rules because, surprise surprise, you're not better than anyone else!!! (hide spoiler)]

Haha. I can be the same way. But to me that is a sign of a good but when you can get an actual rise out of a person. I always say if a book can make be feel (be it happy, sad or angry) for the characters or situation then it is doing it's job.

@Jamie Yeah only C.S. Lewis would come up with a backstory for a lamppost xD It reminded me once again of the story how he only included the lamppost in "The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe" out of spite because he was told no good fantasy story would have a lamppost in it lol :D

Finished! I noticed so many things during this reread that just went over my head when reading this as a child, like how Aslan represents God, the Witch Satan, uncle Andrew a nonbeliever etc. I'm very glad to have reread this and looking forward to reading the rest of the series :)

I think of all the series I feel is the most obvious but I agree, I missed a lot as a child when I first read these too I think.

Lewis writes in a way that kinda reminds me of Lemony Snicket. Mainly because the audience will be addressed.

Finished (view spoiler)[No lie, I have only seen the movies, but this book made it really obvious about the religious content in it. I thought that was nice, because watching the movies I really wouldn't have known what everything was supposed to represent if I hadn't been told. But, the part with the apple tree was a wonderful reference to the Bible and it was perfect for sure. (hide spoiler)]
