Section 5 is Kindle loc 4757-5827First sentence "Coffee house had always been a place in the business of business"
Last sentence "Fortified wine. Farmer's beer. I dont care. Just bring it."
For the audible version narrated by Pete Bradbury:
Section 5 starts at 10:57:24
So i didn't take notes either but since we need a conversation starter here I go.The Gedar section with the seer was interesting and disappointing at the same time. The only thing we got was:
"You will see her thrice," she said "and you will be different people each time. And each time, she will give you what you want. You have already seen her once."
So i am guessing this is about Cithrin. They met when he left the banks jewels to get revenge on Klin. I wonder if their meetings will be pivotal turning points in the series. Wish we got some more.
Gedar also looks to be joining the spider goddess cult so he could become even more dangerous.
I totally forgot about that Bill. Very interesting.....and not many comments I can make since I've read the first three books already. But that definitely seems like a prophecy to remember.
Meanwhile, there was the whole Cithrin plot concerning the insurance/ escort business. It didn't work out which was quite obvious (we could guess that she stole the wrong plans from her opponent who she was sleeping with) and she was very upset about it, while everybody else (Marcus, Kit) saw it coming. And Geder has risen to be the book's main villain. I'd never have guessed that from the first chapters when he was so shy and bookish.

Interesting theory about cithrin.
The great wealth in the world lay in the patterns of commerce. The Keshet and Pût might have olive trees and wine enough for every city in the world, but no mines there produced gold and the iron was in rough, roadless terrain and difficult to reach. Lyoneia grew fabulous woods and spices, but struggled to grow enough grain to feed its people. Far Syramys with its silks and dyes, magic and tobacco, promised the rarest goods in the world, but the blue-water trade to reach them was so uncertain that more fortunes were lost than made in going there. Everywhere, there was imbalance, and the surest path to profit was to be between something valuable and someone who valued it
From what I can make out from this is cithrin is investing in ships which will carry goods to far off ports and if this successful she will get good returns from it.
