I look forward to seeing Cillian Murphy's portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer and am curious to see how Christopher Nolan interprets this moment in history on screen. I have yet to read "American Prometheus," but am curious!
I am currently watching the Netflix show: The Lincoln Lawyer, based on Michael Connelly's novels.
I am looking forward to the new series/continuation of Justified as well. Elmore Lenord's novel "Rayland" is still sitting on my TBR pile!

Hi Amy,
I have not seen "The Lincoln Lawyer" but I will have to put that on my list to watch.
Crime novels! I have not read "Raylan" Elmore Leonard has quite a following. I will have to put on my "to read" list. Although, I never guess the final outcomes of any crime stories in book or T.V. ! I'm not like Nancy Drew, she always found the right clues and solved the mysteries.
Scott Patterson...I sure loved "The Gilmore Girls, A Year in the Life" that ending! but wait! are we sure that is the ending? I hope not. I would love to see more.
Cillian Murphy, my prediction, he will be nominated during awards season.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice weekend.

I'm also looking forward to Oppenheimer.
Donna, I agree. I think that Cillian Murphy will get nominated for Best Actor. I'm sure the movie will also get a ton of other nominations (even if it doesn't get the big nominations like Picture or Director, at the very least I'm sure it will dominate with the technical categories like visual effects, sound, cinematography, etc.).
I'm also very much looking forward to Barbie, which comes out this weekend as well. I love the jokes with "Barbenheimer" where people are doing a double feature of Oppenheimer and Barbie, two wildly different movies.
I haven't been reading as much lately as I've just been so busy. But I've at least still been consistently watching things. I loved the new Indiana Jones! Even though I heard lots of people gave it a lukewarm reaction, I thought it was a great send-off and final movie for the franhise. I also really loved the new Mission Impossible, as well as the new animated Spider-Man ("Across the Spiderverse"). So far I've thought this summer has had some great movies, with still Barbie and Oppenheimer left to come out!
Hope things are going well at MPC! Assuming things aren't too busy right now during the summer.
Colton
Hi Colton,
There are going to be many movies to come out during this year. But, I think Oppenheimer is going to be a contender. It may not will all the awards, but I sure hope Cillian Murphy gets recognized. He has always been under the radar and is great.
Barbie...I'm a Barbie kid. I have not seen the movie yet. I hear good things about it. I just hope the movie doesn't take away the magic of Barbie. Barbie is Barbie, she's not perfect, but for me, it brought my imagination to a reality. Make-believe was part of being a kid and it was a fun time. My grandmother even made Barbie clothes for my Barbies. Greta Gerwig, I think will once again be a contender for the Oscar with this one.
You saw Indiana Jones! I have not had a chance to see it yet. I'm going to see it. I'm so glad you liked it. Mission Impossible, Part 1. I would like to see that as well. Tom Cruise needs to be given an honorary Oscar for helping save the movie industry and all his amazing stunts. He's remarkable.
This has been a good year for good movies so far. Let me know if you hear of anything else coming up.
Have a good day. Always good to hear from you Colton.

i’m finding myself to have a really chill summer, i’ve been cooking, reading and watching a lot and im really happy with it.
i’ve also been rewatching gilmore girls but i’ve stopped bc i really can’t get over of how awful rory becomes in the latest seasons, but it was also interesting bc i had the chance to remember how i felt when i first watched when i was like 14/15.
i love cartoons so much and i’ve been also rewatching bob’s burgers (which is a wonderful cartoon in my opinion) but i’m close to finish it and i’m worried that i won’t have anymore tv shows to watch bc i feel like i’ve seen every show that has to be seen haha
i’m really happy bc i started to watch movies again as well as reading (which i abandoned bc i’m dumb and i forgot of how much i liked it).
Hi,
I'm so glad you are having a relaxing summer. I am trying to get through the stack of books that I have been collecting this year and last? I'm getting ready to start reading our new book club selections "Ellis River" by Nicki Ehrlich and "Drowning, The Rescue of Flight 1421" by T.J. Newman. We start online discussions on August 11th. I hope you will join us.
I love the Gilmore Girls. I re-watch and re-watch. My favorite characters are The Life and Death Brigade, Logan, Finn, Colin, Robert...I think I like them, because I could never have that level of confidence and fearlessness that they had and yet they escape every dangerous escapade they involve themselves in.
Cartoons! especially late nights when I cannot sleep. They are good company. They are timeless and fun. Bob's Burgers has quite a following. So many interpretations about the individuals of this family, which is a writer's joy for all who watch, represent something unique to them.
There is no rule on when to watch or read books. Enjoy them when you feel the need for them.
Thanks for sharing!
Have a nice weekend.
Sincerely,
-Donna

Checking in to see what you are reading or watching this summer? I like to re-read and re-watch book and movies.
I have been re-watching "The Gilmore Girls" I enjoy revisiting Stars Hollow and the unique people that make a whole town a family. To have a village of support that Rory Gilmore had is heartwarming.
I'm re-reading "American Prometheus" in anticipation of seeing the movie. I am a Cillian Murphy fan, so I have to go watch this one. I have not seen the movie yet, but I am making a prediction he will be an Academy Award nominee.
Photography books, I'm re-reading ones that I have had for many years. I love photography and I read with awe and gratitude for the many photographers that have captured so many moments. For better for worse, they have captured our lives and history. And many have given their lives doing so.
Cartoons! I have been re-watching old episodes of Scooby Doo Where Are You? I loved it as a kid and I still love it as an older kid. It is still so much fun to watch the mystery un-fold with that time-less group of friends and furry friend.
What are you watching?
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
-Donna
