I managed to find it: I sincerelly hope to be here to discuss of it! By her I've only read The Namesake, and liked it quite.
I hope to read it soon, too. I don't think I've read anything of hers, but I've had this one on my list for a while now.
I like Lahiri's writing and have read all the books by her, my favourite is The Lowland. The Namesake was made into a movie, it has my favourite actors in the lead roles.
I am hoping it's available on audible, having issues with my eyes again so relying on audiobooks.
Alannah wrote: “I am hoping it’s available on audible, having issues with my eyes again so relying on audiobooks.”It is, and the reader is good. I’ve been listening to it and enjoying it quite a bit.
Just bought on audible. Currently listening to another book So will start this when I’m finished.
Finishe yesterday.
In Italian we say "Straniamento"; I think that it could be conveyed with the English term of "Estrangement".
This collection of short stories is, in my modest opinion, on this feeling, the feeling of not being "at home" anywhere: where we come from, where we are and, maybe, where we are going.
I generally do not like the genre ”stories”, I find that what is important is not really developed, but merely hinted at. But sometimes hinting is even better that explaining.
And this great women writer knows how to do this!!!

Yes Laura, you are right. My own personal reason to read all her works is that they are nostalgic and 'reeks' with Indianness( except Whereabouts).Especially Namesake and The Interpreter.... like how she describes the vegetable cutting instrument, it is nostalgic even for Indians living in India,it is almost extinct our grandmother used to use it.

If you have already read the book, please feel free to discuss spoilers here:
