New Amazon books not showing up on Goodreads?

It used to be that a day or two after a book was published on Amazon (and sometimes even preorders!) that book would be in the Goodreads database. I’m not surprised that a book I bought from Amazon on the 14th isn’t on Goodreads yet, however I bought one on the 6th and it’s still not on Goodreads. I’m hesitant to bother the Goodreads librarians because I know they are volunteers, and these two books are just 3 star fantasy books anyway.

Have you noticed problems with newly published books? Possibly books that just have ASIN and not ISBN numbers. Is this a known issue that will get fixed eventually, or something I should report to Amazon? My kindle throws an error when I try to record a star rating, even without adding the book to Goodreads first.

Problem may be caused by BadBot adding book then promptly removing it in such a way that ISBN or ASIN remains in database thus blocking the book being imported again or added by author. If this is what has happened volunteer librarians can help but expect it to take time. Librarians are a bit overwhelmed by BadBots.

I had this problem with Lowell's Working Class! It appeared a few days.

Lowell's Working Class appeared because volunteer Librarian changed the status to Public. BadBot had set status to Deleted thus making it inaccessible.

Okay thread posted to the librarians group for the missing book that I bought from Amazon on July 6th, which has a listed publication date of over a week before that.

Will wait a while before posting about the book I bought on the 14th. That author has more fans than the other book so perhaps someone else will post about it - and it’s only three days so it might just magically appear.
