Bound By Moonlight (Moonlight, #4) by Nancy Gideon
Bound By Moonlight by Nancy Gideon

Finished: April 30
Rating: 4 Stars

Review: This series is growing on me with each installment. It really makes you run the full gamut of emotions. Max and Charlotte's relationship is intense both physically and emotionally and there are some excellent developments in the overall storyline. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Enslaved By the Others (H&W Investigations, #6) by Jess Haines ( r-f-April 28-29 ) ( by Jess Haines ) ( Title E ) ( Pages 345 )

Rated:4

Review:

This book was packed with a lot of action with a bit of romance thrown into the mix.
The story starts off right where the last book left off. Shia is now in the custody of Max and her future is not certain. Royce does not know where she is so any hope of a rescue is impossible. I loved how the author didn't make things easy for Shai

Review: A very good addition in the series. It's one of the best in the series so far. Though, I probably liked #4 well enough too. The issues in the book are complex and at the same further the world instead of going away at the end of the book. I'm excited to see how the author uses them in the upcoming books.

Week 6, Spot 53, 3rd in a series
I read Never Forgotten by Terri Reid
Date read - May 1, 2015
Rating - 3 1/2 stars

I deducted 1/2 of a star because the religion got a little heavy-handed.

I really like this series. The main characters are likeable and realistic. They have faults as well as foibles. The author does a good job of keeping the tension between the hero and heroine without it escalating into anything physical. How quickly the hero recovered from the poisoning was a little unbelievable though. I'm looking forward to the next book.

The conclusion to the Lake & March series. This is a historical mystery series and the mystery portion is really good. The romance is developed over three books which is fairly predictable. On the whole an ok series.

Week #7: (Spot 53)
Rome (Marked Men, #3) by Jay Crownover
Book:
Rome (Marked Men, Book 3)..and Book Title "R"
Read: April 7
Rating& Review: ★★★.
This book featured Rule's older brother Rome, the one that was in the military for most of book 1. Now he is back from Afghanistan and suffering from PTSD. Instead of seeing a therapist, he opted for numbing himself with vodka and being a douchebag to everyone. While the crew tip-toed around him, Cora (Shaw's friend and Ayden's roommate) didn't have history with him. Thus she wasn't shy about telling off and calling him "Captain No Fun" for his constant grump behavior.

But despite all the snarky retorts, Cora fought an attract to Rome, until she couldn't anymore. Then they had to find a way to understand each others issues and see where their relationship could go.

book read : Bubba and the Ten Little Loonies by C.L. Bevill, 338 pages
date read : May 10, 2015
rating - 3 stars

I read Bubba and the Ten Little Loonies. This series has been in a bit of a slump these past couple books. This one was definitely better, but that's probably because the author used Agatha Christie's famous mystery Ten Little Indians / And Then There Were None as a base. Bubba wasn't quite as dense in this story. And the inmates at the Dogley Institute for Mental Well-Being are always entertaining. Can't wait for the next book.

Rating: 4 Stars

Review: Gibson is a wonderful story teller and this series is very entertaining. The characters are well defined and the plot premise compelling. Nevertheless, the books contains one of my most hated tropes - keeping secrets. This is exceedingly irritating as the reader is constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop and it puts a pall on the romance. My preference is for characters who are open and honest.

The Witness by Sandra Brown by Sandra Brown

Date Read: 13 May 2015
Rating: 3 stars
Review:
This book read older (1990) than it was actually published (1995). The story is nothing to write about (unless you count really silly) but Sandra Brown sure can write. It was totally engrossing and very difficult to put down. When the flash back was revealed completely, I was thinking maybe my 12 year old self would have loved this. It had the tropes and all the stereotypical characters. The twist at the end was a little difficult to swallow because I had soo many questions on the reality of it. Overall an entertaining read for a suspense lover with less emphasis on romance.

Review: Although somewhat dated in terms of the themes (not surprising given that it was written in 1989), this book is a wonderful read. Mary Elizabeth Potter is a prim and proper teacher with a spine of steel who she stands toe to toe with sexy, smoldering Wolf Mackenzie. The small town prejudices and the suspense plot add additional layers of intensity to the romance. Will be reading more in the series.

This is alot different than many menages that I have read because it focuses on the emotional growth between the three men and doesn't focus on the sexual attraction like many othe books do. Tom and Cass are in an established open relationship that is suffering in some ways because both men are so focused on their careers.

Jake suffers from Tourettes Syndrome and catches Tom's attention when he is in a pub one night. It is Jake being in Cass and Tom's lives that brings the other two men back together as well as including Jake.

I really liked this story.

The Mischief of the Mistletoe by Lauren Willig, 339 pages
read : May 18, 2015

With a main character with a nickname like Turnip, you have to know that the book shouldn't be taken too seriously. This is just a fun story. The author must have saved up all her bad puns, silly jokes and wackiest characters. Throw in Christmas puddings, detachable mustachios, teenage girls and French spies and you end up with a romping good time. A solid 3 star rating.

Seven Years (Seven, #1) by Dannika Dark
Book:
Seven Years (Seven, Book 1)
Read: May 19
Rating& Review: ★★★.
This book had all the makings of a great book, so I am not quite sure why it was just okay.

Lexi Knight was grieving her brother's death when her brother's best friend Austin Cole comes back to town. He tells Lexi that her brother's death wasn't an accident as they previously thought, but a murder. In fact, Lexi's family was still in danger from the group who murdered her brother but Austin was there to protect them. This began Lexi's discovery that she isn't human, but a shifter. Also, Lexi began unraveling the story behind her brothers murder.

There was romance, there was a plot, the writing was good but I just didn't connect with the characters in a way that would allow me to truly care about their plight. I liked the story enough that I will continue with the series. I hope the series proves to be as enjoyable as I think it will be.

Review:

Both the hero and herione had amazing chemistery. I loved how the herione blackedmailed the hero working for her so she could find out why he was robbing people. I enjoyed the scenes where Sullivan ( the hero ) was trainning Icdabel' ( the herionr ) horse Zephyr and teaching her how to ride was faisinating and nicely done. I ferll in love with both the hero asnd herione because of the way Enoch ( the writer ) presented them in the story. It was writen in such a way that you get to know their personality and characters at the samre time they het to know each other. The plot flowed very well and thete was a lot of genuine intense emontion that never became cheesy or overwhelming. I thought the story was very unique and original. I loved it and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
