Lauren (laurenjberman) I'm 78% into my book and should be done with it today. I have to work late so I'm not making any promises :0)

The Passover holiday begins Tuesday, so I'll have more time to read then.

Glad your book was quick and fun, Nan. I'm not really into New Adult. I don't have the patience for the angst and the drama.

Vi | 625 comments I agree, Nan. I liked that one too but I also felt it needed a little more depth. I recently read The Deal (Off-Campus, #1) by Elle Kennedy which I really loved. I'm not usually a fan of NA too but this one was appreciably done well. There was very little angst; more of a natural progression which I liked.

Lauren, you can try this one if you like. It's really one of the better NA.

One Bad Apple by Sheila Connolly

Finished: March 30
Rating: 3 Stars

Review: I'm relatively new to cozy mysteries and I've read some really great ones. Unfortunately, this one doesn't quite cut it. Even though the story is very readable and the heroine is quite engaging, there is very little tension or suspense and the ultimate revelation of the killer is anti-climactic. The characters are not fleshed out well and the small town vibe that I love so much is missing. Not sure that I'll continue.

Review:

This book was so awasome i am so attached to the characters in this series. This book had a brillant romance plot. I also loved all the twists and turns that were in this instalment that kept you glued to the edge of your seat. I loved the characters excepecially Fracesca and Calder's. The romance between these two is like no other. So far i love this series this is clearly romantic suspence at the dawn of the 20th century

Yes, I've watched the show. It is very different as it is much lighter in tone with a lot of humor while the books are dark and gritty. The actress they have cast for Jane is actually very close to how I imagined her but Maura is the complete opposite of her character in the books.

The only storylines from the books that they kept was The Apprentice (Rizzoli & Isles #2) by Tess Gerritsen and John Doe (Rizzoli & Isles, #9.5) by Tess Gerritsen and some of the things going on in their personal lives. There was one change here that I wasn't fond of but you can't have everything.

At first, I was disappointed by the differences but the show is fun so I've just decided to keep them separate in my mind, lol!

Vision in Silver (The Others, #3) by Anne Bishop by Anne Bishop

Date Read: 5 April
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
The third book in The Others series by Bishop was a fun ride. The newly released Cassandra Sangue are having difficulties adjusting to their new life and it's up to Meg to ease their way in. The third seemed to concentrate more on Cassandra Sangue than the previous books. More so, I think, because the world was setup with some detail in the first two.

As a result, the certain things (like the overload) sort of felt very sudden. I do know it was mentioned in the previous two but in this one it was certainly so detailed that I wondered how Meg coped before this.

Apart from that, the relationship between Simon and Meg is done so slowly that I guess the resolution is still very far off. Lots of new developments have happened that I really want the next book in the series now.

The story was romantic, sexy, ( with a combination of ) passio, sexual tension, michievous banter, and witty humor thrown into the mix. This book has got everything. A gourgeous tourtured hero and an endearing intelligent herione. This is one of my favorite quotes:

dreamed. Over and over and over

Week #3: Spot 23 - Alternate text item "Author H"
The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire (Half-Moon Hollow, #3) by Molly Harper
Book:
The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire
Read: April 5
Rating& Review: ★★★¾.
this book 3 featured Gigi, Iris' younger sister being stalked by a vampire who seemed to either attack her or kiss her. For some reason, Gigi liked the game of cat and mouse. After all Cal, her sister's vampire husband had put her through her paces for self defense.

as the book goes on, we learn that the stalker Nik, came from Europe to scare off Gigi's male suitors. Nik was also hired by Orphelia because of his special ability to touch objects and learn facts about anyone who handle the objects. Once Cal found out Nik had actual feelings for Gigi, he forbade them to see each other.

The rest of the book follows the two lovebirds trying to find a way to be together and find out why Nik tries to attack her. It was very satisfying to findout the culprit and have the culprit punished.

Started this series quite a while ago and stopped reading it when I got more into M/M books. This was the kind of Series you could read out of order or pick up after a long break. It was a quick easy read but it definitely had a story to it and I enjoyed seeing how the relationship between Gabe Travis and Kylie evolved. Can't wait to read the other books in the series to see what happens with the other Walker brothers.

The plot in this one was really thin and didn't really move the story along that much. The only real thing of significance was finding out the mole in the THIRDS. Dex felt like he belonged as a cast member of the Real World. I can't believe he is a special ops agent because not only is soooo MTV-ish.

I am sure they'd get further in their quest to take down the Order if they weren't all crushing on everyone in their department and trying to hide it since there is a no fraternization policy. How everyone can't see how Dex moons over Sloan definitely tells me the THIRDS are not the most observant bunch.

The rest of the crew...I don't know. I was expecting more meat in this book so I am frustrated with the lack of substance.

Shadow Walker (Stormwalker, #3) by Allyson James by Allyson James

Date Read: 16 April 2015
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
This was a good addition to the Stormwalker series. This builds on the Janet's & Mick's relationship and with others too.

The best thing about this series is the number of paranormal beings present - storm walker, dragon, vampire, shape shifter, witch, God and shadow walker (introduced in the book). It's one of the most diverse UF series I've read. I have to say - this book had one of the most displaced sex scenes ever. At one point towards the end, both of them are spent fighting in a sinkhole. Janet has broken bones etc and they just had a MAJOR relationship crisis. And the bad guys have to stopped too. Then they have sex. Gah. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes.

I recommend this series to anybody looking to give it a try. I'm definitely continuing this on.
