The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu
Read: 15/04/15
Rated: 2.5 stars
Review: It was... ok. It wasn't anything special or intriguing. We had a girl whose entire reputation was ruined by petty jelousy and anger, a guy who dies and his best friend is left to deal with the loss, a boy who likes the said girl with reputation and lastly a girl who wanted to be so popular that she threw her best friend under the buss.
The character were a little boring to me, they had no depth. Everyone had his role to play, brokenhearted or the queen bee.
Now it wasn't boring or anything, it was just hackneyed.
Overall I liked the main premis of the book but it wasn't great.

Tin Men A Novel by Christopher Golden

★★★★★
Well I am not overly fond of action books but Tin Men was a wonderful surprise. Non-stop action from start to finish with an interesting plot line and great characters. The concept of the US using the minds of its soldiers to police the world through nearly indestructible robots posed some philosophical questions that makes the reader think about the concept of freedom and the greater good. I thoroughly enjoyed Tin Men and recommend it for anyone who fancies some fast-paced futuristic military action.

I love this entry into the Run this Town series. I love that fact that this is about grown man falling in love. I will say that this book is not kind to woman. If you can't handle that fact, please pass on this book. I'm a sucker G4U trope. I love how Ms. Avril does it and wil definitely be continuing with this series.

Review: Loved this book! Love this entire series!! The only thing that kept this from 5 stars is the fact that the MCs don't even come close to being together until after 50%. They have times where they're in the same room but nothing romantic. That said, the first half...and really the whole thing is completely entertaining because we still have Nana and her crazy family. Seriously, I was actually cracking up at some of the stuff she did. Cockhenge. lol. That's what happens when you round all your trees and bushes. We know both Zan and Gianni from previous books but getting to really know them was a delight. These two...well, perfect. Both with self-esteem issues but still perfect.

This Fast Track tale is a fun somewhat hot second chance at love. The lead couple is a wonderful pairing of two people in love with her insisting it is only lust. Although the plot is thin especially when compared to previous Fast Track tales, fans will enjoy watching the desperate antics of a married couple at cross purposes.

A Faint Cold Fear (Grant County series 3) by Karin Slaughter
(Grant County #3)

Rating - ★★★★★

A Faint Cold Fear is the best book in Karin Slaughter's Grant County series so far. The mystery was well done and I didn't figure it before I was supposed to - which is rare these days. This book also focuses on Lena, who is one of the main characters who is still dealing with the trauma of being a victim of a violent crime in book #1 - this character has never been a likeable character and this does not really change much in book 3, but her storyline is getting more and more interesting with each book.

Review: The one thing I really liked about this book is how realistic it was. There was starvation, depression, desperation. It was really dark at some parts and the nice parts were scarse. There were a lot of things I didnt like, like how alwful Alex sometimes behaved towards Julie and how he prefered Bri so obviously. Now Bri was really annoying but she won a soft spot in my heart. The writing wasn't that amazing but, once again, the whole book was really realistic.

3 -3.5 stars

I'm going to be honest, It's all about Nana and gay homosexual that seem to run deep in that family. She is the Sophia Petrillo of the literary world. I love her antics. She is funny glue to a otherwise boohoo story. I know they are meant to be together because the blurb told me so. I didn't see the connection. Their connection just didn't flow for me. Gianni preach that he wants to be taken care off but he chooses a man who needs carer. It seemed like he wanted to take care of Zan than the other way around. I would have accepted their relationship dynamic more if there was any mention any of attraction before big scene at the airport. I don't like it when they introduce another possible love interest and then completely destroyed the character. Why can't he simply be not the one?

What a great ending to the beginning of their journey together. We knew from the beginning they would have to return to their community in order to get on with their future. It was, once again, a very frustrating but wonderful book about the Amish and their beliefs. It's not something I can even wrap my brain around so that's where the frustration comes in to play. I did love how the parents were to Aaron at the end but wish Jen played a larger part in this book. I just love her. I feel there could still be another book about these two but if there's not, I'll be satisfied with how this one ended.

Unbeloved (Undeniable, #4) by Madeline Sheehan

★★★★
I really like this series and Unbeloved didn't disappoint me. This time it was Dorothy's, Jace's and Hawk's story and the resolution of the love triangle that has plagued these three characters. I really thought the resolution to all their storylines was great and as it should be. Of course it was also good to catch up with all the couples that readers have met in previous books and see their stories continue. Although I am not particuarly looking forward to the next book in the series as it goes back in time quite some decades to tell Preacher's story, I am looking forward to the one after, which will be ZZ's. I can't imagine how they are going to redeem him after what this book has shown he has been doing, but I am certainly interested in finding out!

Review: I liked it. It was a quick fun read with some dark elements. I liked how we could see the family history and all those stories/legends and why this family was 'cursed'. My favorite of them has to be with the teacher and the seller of onions and just how she asked him to fix her school and then her heart... aww. Anyway, I liked Stanley and Zero's relationship. The other boys were super mean and didn't really care what happened to Stanley especially that time with the sunflower seeds. My favorite scene has to be the end where evrything is out in the open and we have sort of a happy ending.

The Chase (Fast Track, #4) by Erin McCarthy by Erin McCarthy
4/28/15-4♥

The latest Fast Track romance (see Hard and Fast, Flat Out Sexy and Hot Finish) is an entertaining trip around the oval with two likable drivers although the second chance at love plot is actually very linear. The key to this fast as a NASCAR race tale is Kendall's reluctance to take their relationship to another level because she believes her beloved Evan tried to defuse her dream when they were together the first time. With trademark Erin McCarthy humor and the return of the leads from previous entries, fans will enjoy the spin around the Fast Track.

Barbara Elsborg's books has never grab me from get go. But I know the first few pages will be a struggle for me to read. But after I get pass that, It like a flip of a switch and I'm suck into the story. It was heavy, funny and hot story. Malachi was everything in this book. These men were in need and I mean NEED for some good loving. They got it and I'm happy.

Book 1 is still my favorite of the series but this one was a great addition. Marcus is kind of broken but trying very, very hard to get back on his feet and Timur is Julien's friend *cough* from the Legion. The smexing was very hot but I felt that's all we had for a good portion of the book. I guess I have a hard time believing they're going to work out so fabulously when Timur doesn't even understand what's being said half the time. I kept wanting Julien to appear and be their translator. I did love, love his favorite phrase though and it sums up my opinion of this book..."Is Good".

Erin McCarthy's Fast Track series gets better and better with each book released and Slow Ride is no exception to that. Tuesday and Diesel are very easy characters to relate to. I saw parts of myself in both of them. The story was much better because it didn't actually have to do with a current driver. It helped, I think, because the drama was between the two was self-inflicted and had nothing to do with "the job."

Ryde the Lightning

2 stars

I want to be done with this series. But can't seem to let it go because I invested some much time to it and it's connected to another series. I need to see it to the end.

Everything just gets repetitive.

Here things I seen repeatedly in past few books:
1. Horrible adoptive parents/ easily acceptance of bio parent(s).
2.Your guardian is your mate. Why are they fighting it? or acting surprise? It happened four times before this book.
3. Going to club and singing that connected to the situation. Why can't they go to the club and not perform.
4. Mini Recaps. You have a loyal fanbase. Quit with the mini recaps of previous character lives. It is like you are watching your favorite show and then " Breaking News" pop up on your screen. It just jerks you out of the story.
5. Past significant relationship-- Turns out they are all evil and frees the MC1 up to fully commit to MC2. Markus's incident didn't make sense.
6. Everybody is attractive, perfectly flawed and will never die.

This series feels like an after school special at times. I wanted fluffy but this one didn't hit the mark. I just can't recommend this one.
