Word lace found p. 2, "lace bikinis"
Olivia and her husband have moved from the Texan heartland to Chicago after Alan's job transferred him. They stay at Alan's friends spacious house until they find a place to live. Exit Alan after 30 years of marriage, and enter Ash into Olivia's life. This is a story of a 57 year old woman who is dumped by her husband for a younger woman and how she survives.
I found this story to be a bit of a fairy tale. Olivia finds love and romance as she never had it before with Ash who, a widower, adores her. He has a huge house, lots of money and showers her with love and gifts. They work through blending their families, and life goes on. I am probably biased on this as I know of people who the first part happened to, but definitely not the knight in shining armor to save them. However, it is an upbeat book and if that is what you are looking for, it is a good read.

the problem is that I started a new series when I already have too many to finish :(((

Ill be finished by tonight

"Those she remembered were like a web of lace, connected in a loose way but with gaps and holes and spaces, and so frail and insubstantial she was never sure how safe they were to trust." page 30
I love Susanna Kearsley and I really enjoyed this book. In weaving the story of Mary Dundas' encrypted journal from the 1740's with Sara Thomas' present day amateur code breaking, Susanna Kearsley connects the lives, loves and adventures of these two young women.

the problem is that I started a new series when I already have too many to finish :((("
I do that all the time, I need to stop adding new first in series books!! But they are so tempting ;)

Nora and Vee are high school students, and their is a new guy in the class. Patch ends up being Nora's team mate in her biology class, and she finds herself drawn to this mysterious new student, who is dangerously attractive. Together Vee and Nora search for answers, and the investigation soon brings doubt to Patch's past, while Nora ends up the target of escalating violence.
This is a great read. A teen young adult novel, filled with the angst of growing up and they mystery of life. The story is full of twists and turns, and is a good page turner. I am looking forward to reading the second in the series.

This was a sweet young adult that dealt with death, starting your life, and friendship. Max was adorable, I love the nerdy boys, what can I say :)

disappointed. Not what I was expecting from a Kade Boehme's book. I couldn't connect with the MCs and the story was nothing special. It's not a bad book, still not a winner to me.

I was in the mood for a little Arthurian legend and this book fit the bill. A little magic, a monster, a damsel in distress and a knight in shining armor, what more could you ask for?

I was really hoping for a little bit more from this. A good, interesting story nonetheless. Hopefully the series will get better

Great read. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering what was going to happen next. It is full of twists and dark, intense plot and I loved every minute of it. On to the next one.

This is a jewel of a book. The story is historical fiction loosely based on the lives of two sisters, Sarah and Angelina Grimke, and a slave named Handful. Sarah is gifted with Handful on her 11th birthday, and with horror, tries to give her back. The Grimke is a well-to-do family in Charleston, SC in the early 1800's. The book entails Sarah and Handful's (or Hettie's, as she was otherwise called) journey in life to discover their true calling amidst the misery of slavery.
Well written, easy to read, the book runs in parallels to Sarah and Hettie's lives, seen from their own perspectives. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, or the struggles of equality, not only racial, but for women as well.

Being a huge fun of the Coda series this last installment was such a delusion. I didn't connect with the MCs. I didn't understand their behaviors during all the story. The only part I loved was the ending.

big nope! *sobbing*

This was a beautifully written story, with so much creativity and imagination. That definitely makes it worth reading. It didn't rate higher for me because the story didn't tie cohesively together enough for me at the end, still lose ends for me.

Susanna Kearsley is one of my favorite authors. I love time travel stories and hers are fun to read. The Rose Garden doesn't disappoint. After the death of her sister, Eva brings her ashes to the place where she was the happiest. A village in Cornwall where they spent their childhood summers. She finds herself traveling back and forth between the 1700s and the present time with no control over when it happens. Over the course of the summer, she learns that home is not always what you expect it to be.

An amazing story again by Nicholas Sparks, but what else can you expect? (Also a great movie if i do say so myself).
