Unfortunately, book classifications just aren't that well detailed. I'd love it if they would abandon the genre system and move on to more of a genome project like Pandora does with music. As for adult books with little romance: Have you read The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher? There is some romance, but for the most part Harry Dresden is a single guy and likes it that way.
Thank you for the suggestion Julia. Will defenitely remember that one. I searched around a bit more and got slightly frustraded that whenever I searched for "books without romance" you imediately get lists of YA books. People have been sugesting The Bartimäus Triology a lot (which I can actually say myself was great to read and I'd defenitely read that one again :) )
Books from Terry Pratchett in general.
And Joe Abercrombie 's books.
I'd also add "A song of ice and fire" to the list I think.
This is an interesting question. It inspired me to start a list: Adult Books That Don't Overdo the RomanceI started it off with the books I've read (and loved) that don't have too much romance.
I would also recommend Malazan Book of the Fallen, it does have some romance but it is not even a minor focus of the books

No sorry. Never know how I shall sort or search for books with (or rather without) those qualities either. But I would love to know if there is a way.
