Do you feel like you get more out of the story doing a re-read or prefer it the first time?

I definitely get more with a re-read. Especially this series. The emotions that were breaking my heart made me miss bits and pieces that were picked up in the re-read

Re-read for sure, and listening to the audio even more. The first read you're just reading it like you do a normal book and don't notice the small nuances. You'll be shocked about all the things you dismissed that show the care that the author put into creating her world. So much foreshadowing and comments characters make that you don't know the weight of meaning behind them with that first read.
