Oh no! You were so close!
But just think of all those books that will now get checked off your reading list. There are perks!
Great work!

Book Read: National Velvet (08/25/24)

How It Fit: Listed on Goodreads as Children’s, Juvenile, YA, but sadly it has some bad language.

Yes, published in 1935. It’s a little hard to read/understand at times because of the odd wording. It took a few chapters for me to get into it, but then I did enjoy it. Though I was very disappointed to see curse words and the use of “oh my God” in a children’s book. I was definitely not expecting that. It has been so many years since I’ve seen the movie, I couldn’t remember if it included that or not. Reading this does have me wanting to find it and watch it again though.

There's a book?! National Velvet is my favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie. I had no clue it was based on a book. Guess I need to pay more attention to the opening credits, haha!
