there’s a ton i remember about this book. she has this friend (a girl) that her parents “don’t know about” or something where she isn’t always around. she comes over and the parents go to her room where they are supposedly “hanging out” but always the main characters friend disappears right on queue when the parents come in. one thing i remember is that the friend is always doing bad things or encouraging bad habits, for example one scene that i know for a fact is in the book is when the MC tells her friend she doesn’t know how to kiss and the friend basically gets her to kiss her to practice which i remember thinking was wild. they had this secret barn where they would hideout (the mc and the friend)
the MC has this crush on a guy who is either football or track and they flirt until the end of the book when he finds out she’s crazy or something
and the MC has a bully who i think dies in a pool at a party which is the ultimate start of the thriller aspect of the book…?
anyways, the ending i remember the girl finds out that her friend is imaginary and that everything bad the friend has done was actually her and i think she gets arrested in the end and is hated by her school and whatnot.
i remember the doozy this book brought upon me and i read it at a public library.
