raven (ryujinsgf) | 174 comments Is the selection series worth the read? I'm currently reading the cruel prince and idk what to read next

Violet | 210 comments I liked the selection series but it’s definitely the kind of book you shouldn’t take to seriously. Also I wouldn’t recommend the heir or the crown

alysh (katsanaslibrary) | 98 comments i've only read the first one, but like what violet said you shouldn't take it seriously. i'd say its a good book for 9-12 year olds.

Teo-(school hiatus) | 110 comments I read it in about a week and a half. It helped me get out of reading slump. They are very easy to read. Other than that, all I can say is that I didn't like the last two books very much and my favourite was the third. If you liked The Cruel Prince I recommend This Woven Kingdom. I read it a few days ago and it was one of the best books I've read in a while.

Callie Rae | 33 comments I’ve read the first three cuz the last three follow different characters and it was cute but serious and I loved it. I definitely don’t count it as a middle grade tho

message 6: by samantha (new)

samantha aly | 307 comments it's definitely cheesy. i loved it in middle school, but now i just think the drama's funny. kind of a fun quick read

message 7: by Macee (new)

Macee Manzz read it it's cute but like they said, cheesy. It's an easy and quick read in my opinion. If you like fantasy and the bachelor, you'll love the selection.

raven (ryujinsgf) | 174 comments thank you all!! is it a love triangle tho? if it is, I'll have to drop it lol

message 9: by Macee (new)

Macee Manzz yes.. but its a GOOD love triangle. I might be biased because I like love triangles.

ny_the_bookworm | 101 comments i like it, it’s definitely a nice and light read

blossom ⚛︎ (bluestones) I found the book a bit meh. I'd recommend it if you were in a reading slump or just want a quick binge read.

I think the author was involved in a scandal about fabrication goodreads reviews and that she and her editor and her shit talked some reviewers who left bad ratings

blossom ⚛︎ (bluestones) I'm also currently rereading it because I have a matching annotation kit which I want to use

raven (ryujinsgf) | 174 comments okay lol looks like I have to drop it. what about Throne of Glass series? is it really good

message 14: by nadia (new)

nadia (nadias_books) | 41 comments if you live for drama, yes. you'll eat it up. but it's a fun read and def a guilty pleasure for me.

Teo-(school hiatus) | 110 comments Throne of glass was the first Sarah J. Maas book I've read and so far is my favourite series ever. It may take you a while to finish it, but the action is complex and well developed, full of plot twists . At first I thought it has to be overhyped, like how can a book be that good. However, after the third book I bought the rest of them and read nothing else until I finished the series.

message 16: by Makenna (new)

Makenna | 97 comments I’ve read the whole selection series including the sequels and the four novellas and I definitely liked them. I do think that you need to go into it knowing that at times it goes deep into the politics so that might be a bit boring if you do not enjoy politics. But it is like eating a cupcake. A super easy read, and I LOVE MAXON.

message 17: by Makenna (new)

Makenna | 97 comments Also, these are my ratings off all of the books in the series: The Selection - 3⭐️’s The Elite - 3⭐️’s The One - 4⭐️’s The heir - 3⭐️’s The Crown - 4⭐️’s Happily Ever After (the four novellas in one 400 page book) - 5⭐️’s

If you want to hear more on why I rated those what I rated them just let me know but no pressure ☺️

caitlyn | 9 comments the selection series is amazing🤩 it is more for middle schoolers, but it’s my comfort series. but I do not recommend reading the heir or the crown.

Ani | 66 comments YES, America gives off a little bit of pick me which is sort of annoying but the romance is so cute!
