I've searched for a delete button or link, but didn't find anything.

An edition's status can quickly and easily be set using a drop-down menu on the book's edit page to select one of three statuses: "Public", "Invalid" or "Deleted", see here. In that case you should mark it Invalid, which I suppose any librarian can do.
