Carmel Attard | 74 comments ‘Faith and Reason—Disturbing Christian Doctrines’ shies away from Christianity’s past and present dirty laundry and concentrates on its false doctrines: such as (a) hell, (b) no salvation outside the Church, (c) the trinity and Jesus’s divinity (d) original sin and redemption, (e) Jesus’s Second Coming, (f) Jesus’s real presence in the Eucharist, (g) auricular confession (h) priestly celibacy, (i) God’s Jekyll-Hyde personality, and so on. “The truth will set you free.”
Christian doctrine is supposedly based on the biblical texts: so again, I let the Bible speak for itself and debunk all these doctrines; not to mention exposing the Church’s occasional manipulation of biblical texts to suit its purpose.
With its message of love and utter non-violence, Christianity toppled the powerful, brutal, might-based Roman Empire. But unless we now remove the cobwebs from our doctrines, at a time when most of our youth are graduating in universities and colleges, soon enough nobody will be left in our pews except for a few hot-headed fanatics. This is why I wrote this book.
I wanted to keep this introduction of my third book as short as possible, but should you be interested in further details, you may read the following article entitled ‘Religion-Science Trilogy’ in my website: https://faith-or-reason.com/2021/09/0....
Best regards,
Carmel.
