Allison Ann | 1408 comments Finished last night. I do not recommend going straight to sleep after reading a book about guilt-ridden, anonymous, 70s-era bar sex, but I'm weird that way. ;)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments DANDELION for our last week. Not my first choice, but I'm sure I can find some Ds and vowels somewhere.

message 854: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments I should be able to set a reminder on my phone to check in throughout the day too.

message 855: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Dandelion is not as easy as scarlet. We are just zipping along with scarlet.

For some reason I found neon carrot our hardest.

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments I should have Medium Raw A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook by Anthony Bourdain by Anthony Bourdain finished tonight.

message 857: by Cheryl (last edited May 08, 2015 01:11PM) (new)

Cheryl | 910 comments I finished (fits only one letter, as a non-fiction, but at least a letter we need):

Book: Counseling Suicidal People
Author: Paul G. Quinnett
Pages:240

C: Title

I will finish The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie today and will then start to work on DANDELION afterwards. I will not get much done for our total the final week. So sorry.

Yeah, those N's are surprising hard to find, and we have 2 again.

I read that recently and thought it was good. I think my favorite was reading about the fish cleaning guy.

Don't worry. My book is nonfiction too. It only works for A.

I have to take my client to an appointment so I can add in your book afterwards.

I am enjoying it but I really like Tony.

message 863: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I've got a non-fiction going too, it only works for C. I'm sensing a theme this week. :)

message 864: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Lol, look at us, nerdy readers. :P

message 865: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 910 comments Good thing that all of the "C's" we have used for spell-outs have lots of other letter choices for those books! Looks like we have a ways to go to do another spell-out. The Agatha Christie book I am working on works for all letters except "S." I may be able to get my Mao Tse-tung book read, too. That would only work for "T."

message 866: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments I also plan to have four books finished by tomorrow's deadline. Lots of options. :)

message 867: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I should have 3 maybe 4 done by the deadline. I've been looking for next week and I have 2 D titles and 2 N titles handy. No yellow covers though.

Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments I'm going to go ahead and post for us since we are under an hour to go unless anyone objects?

message 889: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments Let's finish this last week strong! Start looking for lots of D's and N's...and those pesky I's and O's.

message 890: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Go ahead and post. :)

I have 7 D books lined up and 4 N books. It's the O books I am short on but I am just looking at titles and authors. I haven't looked at characters. Also all these books are under 180 pages. I have 21 books lined up.

message 891: by Allison Ann (last edited May 09, 2015 07:35PM) (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I'm having trouble finding Is, but I should be good for all the other letters.

Montreal won and I'm enjoying my first D book. :D Good night all around.

Diane ~Firefly~ | 2438 comments Title: One Book in the Grave by Kate Carlisle, 280 pages

I think we are on Dandelion now

D: char - Derek Stone
A: char - Angelica Johansen
N: char - Nathan Jaglom
E: char - Emily Branigan
L: char - Janice Lee
I: char - Ian McCullough
O: title

I enjoy this cozy series and the neat facts about book binding sprinkled throughout are pretty cool too.

One Book in the Grave (A Bibliophile Mystery, #5) by Kate Carlisle

message 893: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 910 comments I am working on Out of Africa, so at least an O there. The author is listed on Goodreads as Karen Blixen, but the book shows it written under her pseudonym of Isak Dinesen. So, I hope that it counts for O, I, or D.

The second book I have is Open a World of Possible...a non-fiction, but works for O or L.

If I can get a 3rd one done, it will be The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. That will work for D, A,E, and O. So, I can be a help on vowels, it appears. I hope that I can be some help this week!

message 894: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments This version shows both names: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7.... We should be ok, especially since the actual book cover has Isak Dinesen on it.

I loved that book. And Letters from Africa, 1914-1931 by Karen Blixen too. Her life was interesting and sad and then interesting again.

message 895: by RachelvlehcaR (last edited May 09, 2015 10:30PM) (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments I'm half way into my book. I'm so tired I just can't read any more tonight. These 13 hour work days are just kicking my rump. I will finish it tomorrow with at least two more books. I'm just too shattered to go on tonight...

We did great! Great end to a week and great start to a week.

Thanks Michelle for all the work!

message 896: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments We had a great week it seems like. Way to go Rubies! A few of the teams have been complaining of burnout, or how they are too busy, but I think we are going to be able to finish as strong as we started, so yay for us!

That said, I fell asleep reading and didn't finish my book. :D But I'll get it done today, I'm quitting early for mother's day dinner so I'll have reading time after. Happy Mother's Day to those who are moms.

message 897: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Happy Mother's Day team ruby!

I have to work all day (13 hours) I am planning to read during my down time at work.

message 898: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments I fell asleep last night reading but might finish tonight. I work until 9 tonight so it depends on what time I actually get home.

We are doing great! Let's finish this last week strong and win this thing.

message 899: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Lol we are falling asleep read. Is that a sign we are reading too much?

I would have finished my book last night but when I had to reread the same page because I wasn't able to comprehend and retain it, I called it a night.
