And JoAnne, one of my sista's from another motha', is just as sassy and PITA as my younger sisters from the same mother!

This is definitely a favorite social media group of mine, one of first I check. Before Popsugar, I had never done a reading challenge. Before PBT I had never participated in games like this either. These get me through so much of my TBR every year. I love it. I love the discussions that spontaneously spring up. I love how global it is.
I love how the mods share their reading and personalities and embrace our 'unofficial' efforts.

Now, Ursula the Rampant Randomizer ... she's another story. I do see she's flying under the radar at the moment ... 👀👾👀

I'd have a criminal defense attorney on speed dial if that happens. I do have connections in the Manhattan DA's office.

I will mark this on my Board.

Diana Hryniuk | 837 comments I'd like my next roll.

My last book Joseph Balsamo was 612 pages, so it gives me 2 extra rolls. I would also like to use the bonus I got on April 29 for landing on The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society which was tagged "friendship" 175 times - 2 more rolls (or maybe only one additional?)

If I got it right, today I can roll 5 (maybe 4) dice.

I count 5, but I’m really tired. 1 regular roll, +2 for 600 pages, + 2 for 100 tags.

Actually, it doesn't quite work that way!

You have rolled off the board, and now you request a roll for tomorrow, and that's your first roll on your new board.

The roll of 5 dice is considered one roll.

Oh, maybe I made an exception . . .if so, then it's fine. It's not really a big difference. I don't recollect, but I will take your word for it.

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... - I based my counting on this comment

Maybe it can be used in some cases only, which I didn't get. So I'll wait for your response before starting my next read.

That did happen at one point with one of the leaders - can't remember why -- seems reasonable in fact.

message 273: by Olivermagnus (new)

Olivermagnus (lynda11282) | 4764 comments This roll takes me off the board!

I'm calling it quits after completing eight boards. I have enjoyed this challenge so much. The excitement of not knowing what my next book was going to be was so addictive.

As always, I'm in awe at the amount of time and effort Anita puts in to making PBT challenges the best on the GR site. The other mods are outstanding, of course, but Anita is here every single day, even when she takes a 3 day vacation. The way Theresa got the train theme going added a lot of fun along the way.

I think I read 130 books for this game and I still want to read about 60 more that never came up on a roll. I plan to get to those this year. I started so many series I want to complete and I can't wait to get moving on those.

I need to finish some challenges in other groups and I know I have some binge watching I need to catch up on. In the meantime, I'll be following everyone's progress, and now that I have extra time, reading some reviews.

OM - you have been a stellar player, and you so clearly enjoyed all the books you read for it. Many of the genres you were reading are personal faves making reading your reviews either trips down Memory Lane or expansions of my TBR.

Stop into the Caboose any time. You have Conductor Emeritus status allowing you access to all the train's delights. Keep the bespoke Conductor Suit and accessories. Maybe you can use them for a future Halloween party.

Like Theresa said, you have clearly enjoyed your journeys through our magical train and absolutely deserve your Conductor Emeritus status! If I ever make it through the train and back to the caboose, I'll look for you!

Congratulations on completing EIGHT boards!! Astounding! I will admit that I never thought anyone would end up a Conductor, lol. And in half the year.

And thank you so much for the extremely kind words. I so appreciate them. Like so so much.

I am traveling this weekend. I may be around to give some of you your rolls tomorrow, but Cindy is going to be my back-up for the weekend to ensure all requested rolls are handed out.

The timing may be a bit off the normal routine. I won't have a laptop, but will be checking in on the app.

I'm another still on Clerk level! But I may get through my board sooner than expected, as my last roll was a special roll that, after reading my next book, will catapault me 15 extra spaces ahead!

So, yeah. Fridays will always be later for me by the time I'm online. It will be evening for me (so closer to 9:00pm Eastern) tomorrow, but Saturday should be just after noon my time (2:00ish Eastern) for me to pop in to do the rolls.

message 300: by Theresa (new)

Theresa | 15515 comments Anita - enjoy your long weekend!

Cindy - we all appreciate your stepping in, and given we all have plenty to read for other challenges or book clubs or just for fun, we can amuse ourselves during these service adjustments from the Subdue Express's regular schedule.

Lord knows I still have 2 books to read and a sage burning to conduct before asking for another roll!
