Lauren | 3 comments I read this book in elementary school so mid 2000s up until 2010 at the latest I think. That may be a clue to it's reading level too. I believe it was a Sy-Fi book.

What I remember:

- There is an island with a research facility and lots of scientists.
- There's a kid that can remote control a newly developed drone that acts and flies like a real bee. This kid is the only one that can fly it without crashing and destroying this million dollar prototype (I think because it's so fast and fragile).
- He's not the only kid on the island.
- They get on a ship/boat near the end of the book and there is a giant squid attack on the boat. I want to say there's some sort of baydoor that opens out of the bottom of the ship where the attack occurs.
- I think there were mini deep sea research submarines.
- They may have been trying to capture the giant squid.
