Getting in a muddle with this series can some one help me

Doing some decorating at home so thought I would listen to
some audio books via our local library on line, (rubbish choice)
but found the Vampire Diaries series. listened to three books so far

Origins Stefan`s Diaries

the Awakenings book 1

The Struggle book 2

all fine so far until I get to what they class as book 3

Midnight book 3

the story has jumped way ahead with new characters I have no idea about
and events that have happened that leave we clueless .
I have no idea now whats going on and it makes it impossible
to carry on listening.

Has our library made some kind of mistake ?
Its hard to imagine that this is book 3
if its wrong I can let them know as I think this
may be something they are unaware of

any help gratefully recieved

In future if in doubt, check the GR series pages, they are usually spot on.

I think what threw me most about this is
the book covers our UK books have different
covers to the overseas editions, added to
which they keep changing the design on them.
I keep seeing this series with different designs
on them and thinking I am looking at a new book,
but no its the same sets of books, its so confusing.

As a rule I always check out the listing on here
its never let me down

Yeah, I can relate to the different covers issue. Almost bought books I already had, thinking they were new ones.
