Christine | 2061 comments I have added this book at the request of a user:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Now I notice that it was already in the database, but without ISBN, which is why I did not find it before:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

I cannot add the ISBN to the older entry because it is taken by the new one. Could a superlibrarian merge the two entries? Otherwise, should I just delete the older, ISBN-less entry? It has two ratings, though.

Thanks for any advice.

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7865 comments The first step is to combine the two editions, which I did.

Next, merge the duplicate edition into the correct edition by changing the Edition Status to "Delete." I always add a Librarian Note that the edition is a duplicate: https://www.goodreads.com/book/edit/1...

Many merges are currently taking weeks to go through. Because this book is the only edition on Goodreads, you won't need to recombine it with other editions. In this case, you don't need to be concerned about the lag time before the merge goes through. See Updated steps for merging

Helpful hint: Use the author's Combine page to check for other editions of a book before adding a new one. Sometimes books are added without being combined with existing editions, which makes them easy to miss.
