Through Chapter 8 so far...
Looks like this actor isn't impersonating Orhan from the first book... he's impersonating Lysimachus, his bodyguard, who took over after Orhan's unfortunate death... and later died to an unlucky trebuchet right at the start of this book...
That changes things quite a bit... also means the plot doesn't overlap, the way I thought it did...

Started a few days ago and finished today.I had heard originally it was a retelling of the first with a different POV that wasn't all that different from the tone of Orhan's. Very pleased those things I had heard or read in others' reviews were untrue on both counts. Loved it as well and ended just right. Such a quick read, its hard to commentate other than a few plot twists (view spoiler) Looking forward to book 3.
Started! I'm 10 tracks in, 21%, and enjoying so far... can't say I'm keeping plot details straight, but I'm snorting laughter every few minutes and have the major idea decently. I'm glad y'all gave the clarification about the ending lineup.... it was only a chapter or two ago, (view spoiler)

Finished! And like y'all I really enjoyed it. More than the first one, I think. Laughed a lot more, and had an easier time (if not 100% easy) following the story.

I'll put in a request for Aug 16 then. :)I also liked how the MC kept thinking about books--and how books on strategy weren't as useful as people think, since if everyone's read the same book then everyone knows what folks'll do.
