YA Sci-Fi about space cadet that uses a glove and cloak he finds. Read around 2015.

YA sci-fi, most likely a series, where the main character is a space cadet who finds a glove and cloak used by a famous figure but lost when they died. He finds it exploring an abandoned part of the city with his (two?) friends. He is taken to train with the group that uses these gloves called radaghast, or some variation of that name.

The glove and cloak are extremely powerful but take over his mind somehow, making him aggressive. I know he could fly in space and use these items to blow up ships, possibly ending the conflict of the series I'm not sure.

I read this about 2015.
