Conal & Leah MacKenna had three daughters: the oldest Kiera, a medical student and peacemaker in the family; the middle child Kate, an entrepreneur, the smart and responsible one; and the youngest, Isabel, a charmer and people pleaser who’s ready to move to college. Share your thoughts on the dynamics between these three siblings and the roles they play within the family and story structure.

When a family is poor, they have to pull together and make their own lives better. The sisters pretty much resemble their birth order. Kiera is an overachiever. Kate took a different path, but still successful. Isabel is the baby and didn't have to live up to anything. They are a true credit to their mom.

I agree, Anita. They are typical for their birth order. They genuinely love each other, and they all pull together to face any tragedy or hardships they might face. I like their bond and desire that they succeed in their chosen field.

[Sandra]

I also loved these sisters and felt they were true to their birth order in many ways. And each so talented in their own way.
