Yeah, it was a great read - quite philosophical, but done in a very interesting way.

Fish and Ghosts

I wasn't sure going into this book. I LOVE Rhys Ford's Cole McGinnis series and I don't like the Sinners series at all. This series looks like a winner for me. Action, suspense, snark, interesting set of secondary characters, hot scenes...check check check check and check...sign up me for book 2.

I have finished both of my books for this month. The Deadly Offerings, I guess I must have read sometime prior to having gotten my Kindle (as a paperback) as once I started reading it, it all came back to me as very familiar... I have one of those sick minds that won't let me forget what I've read, so re-reading a book is not something I do very often...

Still, it was good, but the Bound by Blood was WAY better... so much so that I've already picked up books 2 & 3 in the same series, so Penni, I think you will love it!

@ Marla: Sorry I missed this when you posted it. It made me laugh. Zuzana is my name, so it's not from the book it's from the head of my parents and from the Czech calendar (my name day is August 11th). It is a Czech version of the name Susan and very common in the Czech republic and Slovakia. :)

I assume that the book you mentioned is set in the CZE or Slovakia? Because then it would make perfect sense to have a character named Zuzana. ;)

LOL, it is set sort of in Czech and in a fantasy world. You should read it, the first book is a little slow, but it is such a cool fantasy world of demons and Zuzana is such a cool friend to Karou, the main character.

Also finished Vampires Dead Ahead (Night Tracker, #5) by Cheyenne McCray I do like these characters and while being trapped at my mother-in-laws I was able to finally finish it! Glad to finally finish this series! Good action though!

I'm ready to plan May! ;)

Ok. thank you for trying. But ummm, nope, you won't give up on PNR. We will just try you again some light and fluffy like Molly Harper instead of Jr Ward.

There are a lot of light and good PNR like the Argeneaus, Elemental Assassin that you would like better than BDB.

But I really appreciate you stepping out of your comfort zone for me :D

As I mentioned to you, I don't like BDB narration. I don't think Iwould like fallen for it if I started on audio. I do audio now but I started on book 10 with audio.

I think you would really like Molly Harper

We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed with Our Families by Philip Gourevitch
Great writing, I can understand why he won an award for it. Grim, very, very grim. I can't say I liked it - really can anyone say they truly 'like' a book about the Rwandan genocide or any genocide for that matter? Still, the stories from the survivors were compelling. He doesn't pull any punches about how the US and European governments at the time certainly made a hash of stopping the horrors. I think he treated everyone fairly, even the perpetrators who tried to whitewash their crimes afterward.

Thank goodness my second book is fiction.

I loved Blood & Thunder, I also finished Rack & Ruin which I also loved now all I need to read is the last one.

I really liked the Backup Boyfriend, lately I have only been wanting to read MM and I haven't read anything else, don't know how long it's gonna last but hopefully a while longer.

Snowtulip Alana, thanks for giving me a kick in the butt to read The Fetch ;)

I think it stayed on my shelf so long, because it isn't a premise that really intrigues me, but I loved the authors other story...this one didn't work for me :( But it's off my dusty shelf :D

Thanks Lou for picking these books! I've been wanting to read both for quite a while and just needed the push! :)

Burned — ★★★★ 4/14
I have to say...I missed Mac and Jericho! It was awesome to have them front and center again. My chief complaint is that there seemed to be some parts that just dragged. Overall though, I loved the new twists and turns and can't believe I have to wait so long for the next installment!

Pleasure Unbound — ★★★★★ 4/5
It took a while for me to get into this book, but once I was engaged, I was engaged! Such an incredible tale that was weaved here! I'm sorry I took so long to get this series started, but am looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Stella ╰☆╮╰☆╮ (stellamatta) Tasheana, thanks for your picks. I loved Cronin's Key (Cronin's Key, #1) by N.R. Walker but I had to DNF (Watch Me) Break You (Run This Town, #1) by Avril Ashton , it really wasn't my thing

KathyD, I'm glad you enjoyed them as much as I did. Let me know when you read Desire Unchained A Demonica Novel (The Demonica Series Book 2) by Larissa Ione . It's gathering dust in my TBR, and I need a push!

You're not the only one. I've had this book The Time in Between by María Dueñas on hold at the library for over a month and it's still not in. I'll have to put it back on my Dusty list for June.

Alana (alockley) I finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Parody last night and I loved it. It had some pretty intense moments, and I really thought pretty early on that I was sure of the ending, but the twists were a true surprise for the most part. I give a strong 4 stars.
