(Subdue) Breaking Gravity, by Mitty Walters (2.5 stars)

Dale Adams is about to graduate with a business degree when he accidentally discovers a new rule of physics that could have world-altering potential. Of course not everyone wants the world to be altered, and Dale soon finds himself on the run, trying to evade a bunch of faceless and nameless assassin-types.

3 stars for a fast paced and reasonably entertaining story. Lots of standard tropes and very rushed in places (as well as ridiculously implausible), but I didn’t mind. This was because of the 3.5 stars for some decent characters. Minus several stars though for the deeply dodgy science. It would have been fine if the author hadn’t tried to explain it (at length) - he’d have been a lot better leaving the tech bit a mystery and letting the story do the work.
