The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo question

It is a work of fiction. The book is about a college girl that went missing after normally leaving a party. We follow the story from the point of view of the police after they started investigating. The police tracked cctv footage of her sightings, and that's when they found her talking to a guy and then left in his car. All students at the college suspected a fellow student to be that guy. The first time he got interrogated by the police he denied the allegations which at the end turned out to be true and was confirmed that he was the murderer. I really can't remember anything else, it's been about 5 years since I've read it.
