you get the hang of the system of vampires eventually. its not too hard to get the hang of if you're a little bit patient. Also they do get better, the plots get more exciting and you relate more to the characters, I say keep trying.
The second book was my absolute favorite of the series! Try that one and then decide to continue. They really are amazing books.
Well, I alredy finished the series and, in my humble opinion, it doesn't really get better. But, of course, that may be because I don't really like how Rose is, she kinda pisses me off sometimes. But, honestly, you can keep trying, maybe you'll like it, and once you get the hook of it, the Moroi-Dhampir thing is really easy to follow.
I'm actually finishing the Bloodlines Series and I liked it much better because I really, really enjoy Sydney's point of view.
I think the first book in this series boring and not really interesting. But it's like the introduction to the VA world. I've read all the books in this series and also all the books in the spin-off series Bloodlines and I love them. I can't really tell you which book in this series I love best, because I really don't know. But for me it got way more interesting after the third book.

So I read the first book to this series. I have to admit, I did not particularly enjoy it. I started the first book, finished it and then read the first chapter of the second book and quit. I've heard this series is great - but does it get better? Like honestly, are the 2nd and on books better than the first?
AND GOSH HOW THE HELL DO YOU REMEMBER THE MOROI DHAMPIR THING?! ITS SO CONFUSING>
