WHY have authors stopped using "take" and improperly replaced it with "bring"? It is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
verb (used with object), took, tak·en, tak·ing.
to get into one's hold or possession by voluntary action: to take a cigarette out of a box; to take a pen and begin to write.
to hold, grasp, or grip: to take a book in one's hand; to take a child by the hand.
verb (used with object), brought, bring·ing.
to carry, convey, conduct, or cause (someone or something) to come with, to, or toward the speaker:
Bring the suitcase to my house.
to cause to come to or toward oneself;
attract: Her scream brought the police. He brought honor to his family by his heroism.
