Hannah Kent | 2 comments This is driving me and my sister insane as we both vividly remeber the book but all google suggests is the Velveteen Rabbit or The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and it’s definitely neither of those.

Probably read between 2005 - 2010. Was a hardback kids book, for younger children as very picture heavy. Also we’re UK based if that helps.

I can remeber a good chunk of the plot; a little girl looses her stuffed toy and can’t sleep without it so her parents tell her bedtime stories about his adventures whilst he’s missing. He goes on a train and the somebody gives him new buttons, and he goes to visit the man on the moon who fixes his stuffing, i think there was another stop too to clean him but can’t remeber that. The book concludes with him going back to the store to wait for her and the family find him; and I remeber it was full on this one specific rabbit toy and she sees one and “knows” it’s him.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as it’s diving us mad!

Kirkus Review:
- "Tatty Ratty, Molly’s favorite stuffed bunny, is missing again, and a thorough search of all the usual places turns up nothing. Molly is heartbroken, but with a little encouragement from her parents, she imagines what Tatty Ratty is doing out in the world. Hopping off the bus, Tatty Ratty finds his way on to a train where he gets new, blue buttons for the ones that he lost. ... Molly’s father helps the tale by suggesting that the little rabbit is taking a dragon ride to the moon where the Man in the Moon sprinkles him in moondust, turning his fur white. ..."
