I have had the best luck on Amazon and Barnes and Noble from the Authorized Sellers where sometimes I can purchase books for 2 bucks...but then there is a four dollar fee to have it sent...which still isn't back for books that are tough to find. Of course, I don't know what that cost will escalate too when shipping to the UK but I have noticed that a lot of the sellers do offer shipping to the UK...just a thought.

Does Amazon UK do free shipping on orders over $25 on new books? We get that here in the U.S., so I keep a wish list & watch prices. Every couple of months, I'll find new books on sale & buy 3 or 4 at a time. It works out well.

Jo...what is the name of the book? I have a bunch of places I buy used...maybe I'll see it....

Gosh Jo, I notice that those are mostly Zombie books...I didn't know you liked zombies! ;) You can't see me but I'm shaking my head as I laugh at my own awesome humor.

I think I might have to give that site a go. Although I do like the option to group my order with Amazon, I like getting a nice big box full of goodies.

It is a really good website. And from experience, I've found that they get here earlier than the Amazon free delivery. They come in little individual jiffy bags - it's far more exciting than it should be :)

Oh no, that's a shame. Maybe it's because the books I've ordered have usually been available for dispatch within 24 or 48 hours. It tells you that on the individual book's page. Maybe if it's longer than that then it's worth using amazon instead.

I'm always too scared to buy of other users lol. I know Amazon is a trustworthy site, but I prefer to buy new unless I can't find the book at all.

Ok, that sounds better than Amazon's annoying little fold over box covers they use. That's the one bad thing about Amazon, I seem to get a damaged book every couple of orders because their packaging isn't all that great.

I've always been scared to buy off the marketplace, but I ordered 2 from there earlier this week... Will report back on their condition when (or if!) they get here!
Occasionally a bookdepository book has a little crumpled corner or something, but I suppose you'll get that anywhere online. Not like in a bookshop where you can search through the pile for the best copy. But, er, of course I don't do that...

Dean, that's annoying. You should request our postman. He delivered despite the strike :) He obviously knew how much I wanted my books!

and Circle Rounder...quick and book was in great condition.
Dean: Maybe you should get to know your postman? If for no other reason then he has a face to put with the name. Sometimes I see our post man coming into the building and I follow him in and wait, chatting with him all the while of course, until he gets to my mailbox. Now when he sees me he just hands me my books and puts the mail piece in my mailbox...because I really can't be bothered with that sort of thing.

Jo, the USD sucks, whatever your price in USD, half it and that should be the price of the book in pounds.

No problem, it's the current exchange rate that keeps me from purchasing British goodies cause I have to double to price.
