Does anyone know that?

I do have a record with a lot of ratings that is invalid (dreame app) but meanwhile there is a paperback of it and I combined them.
Do I have to wait to have the combine finished to have the ratings moved before marking it invalid?

Or is that delay only with the merges?

I think it is only with merges. I would just merge the dreame one

I thought the ratings stay with the invalid edition? I thought the ratings and reviews only move when merging.

you mean they would vanish but at the same time be still there for the persons who rated?

Or does the invalidation an automatic separation that is nowhere mentioned - then you would be correct Tami (and I've spent the time combining and thinking about it for nothing ... hmmm)

I can't. WAY too many ratings/shelvings for me (more than 1k) which is why I thought it might be good to have them on the now actually valid edition...

Yeah, the edition itself including its ratings and reviews becomes invalid, that means the reviews and ratings are "hidden." Only the users who have already shelved the edition will see them. Or if someone somehow finds a link to that edition. Only reviews and ratings in the valid editions would be public. At least that's my understanding of it.

If you post one I will merge it. In the past there has been no delay in combines (once they show as being combined), just merges. I don't think either has changed.
