Tayjah I haven’t seen shadow and bone or read it. I bought the SOC book because it was recommended to me but now I learned that they are connected. Does it matter if I haven’t read shadow and bone before I start reading six of crows?

Jenny | 369 comments I read six of crows and I have not read shadow and bone yet and I would say you definitely can read it first. You may get some spoilers for shadow and bone and some characters that were introduced in shadow and bone but it didn’t end up making much difference to me.

HJreads | 4 comments I've heard Shadow and Bone isn't very good.

I loved Six of Crows and haven't read Shadow and Bone. I don't think it would make a difference to the story line at all :)

Laumns16 | 53 comments you can undestand more things in six of crows if you read shadow and bones first, and it really is not that bad idk what people say, I loved the trilogy but don't watch the serie on netflix you'll be spoiled as I was

faye | 262 comments you can read shadow and bone first if you want but none of it will really have much bearing on reading six of crows. personally i read six of crows first and it didn’t take away from the story at all! soc is generally accepted as being much better than shadow and bone so if you try shadow and bone first and don’t like it so much, don’t let it stop you from reading soc!
