This is book two in The Last Hours trilogy. It continues the saga of James, Cordelia and friends. James and Cordelia are now married and starting their life in their own house. Cordelia's father is now free and returned just in time for the wedding. Cordelia has mixed feelings about his return after learning he wasn't really sick for most of her childhood but an alcoholic. All seems to be going well until Shadowhunters are murdered while on patrol. Lucie has teamed up with Grace Blackthorn in a quest to bring Jesse Blackthorn back to life. James thinks his grandfather, a Prince from Hell, is behind the murders but is unsure of the reason for them or what the ultimate goal is. James is still under Grace's spell even though he has feelings for Cordelia breaking through. Cordelia sees James with Grace and misunderstands the situation. She runs to Matthew. He admits his feelings for her and they decide to run off to Paris, in an attempt to leave their troubles behind. I enjoyed the soap opera of teenage love. It was entertaining but by no means thought provoking. Sometimes I just need a lite fluff read and this fit the bill perfectly.
