The list said I was supposed to pick for you, right? Just in case, for your two hare picks I went with Planes, Trains, and All the Feels by Livy Hart and Ablaze (The Firecracker Cousins, #2) by A.H. Cunningham , and for your bonus romance pick, I chose Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman (which has been on my tbr for quite some time, so hopefully it's good *fingers crossed*).

Grave Secrets (Temperance Brennan #5) by Kathy Reichs

Book - Grave Secrets
Author - Kathy Reichs
Date Read - 5/4/23
Rating - 5 Stars
Review - If you have ever seen the show Bones, then you probably know that the show is based off the books in this series. Tempe Brennan is a forensic anthropologist who works part time in Montreal and part time in North Carolina working to find out who and what happened to the deceased, or what is left of them, on her table.

In this book she is leading a dig down in Guatemala where 23 people were killed and buried in a mass grave. While down there, two of her colleagues are attacked by unknown assailants and come to find out it was a case of mistaken identity and that she was the intended victim. Tempe teams up with another homicide detective to find out what is going on and why she was targeted.

I've noticed that in several reviews for this series, so many people complain about all the technical writing descriptions in relation to her job. Personally, I find all the science fasinating. Do I understand every single word? Nope, but I did take some genetics and anthropology classes in college, so I have a basic understanding. I would love to hang out with this author for a day in one of her labs.

Darcy (Boyfriend for Hire, #1) by R.J. Scott
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Darcy, who the book is titled after, was a dull character with no real personality. The best characters were the siblings, Abby and Adrian.

Future Fake Husband (Mallory Vineyard #1) by Kate Hawthorne
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This book fell apart at the 50% mark. And there were two subplot holes dealing with side characters that didn't make sense and were never explained. It was ridiculous.

Liam (Love at the Haven #4) by Stella Shaw
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: Finished but haven't written the review yet. Least favorite book in the series so far.
The way BDSM is handled right at the beginning between the characters, absolutely didn't work, and I struggled throughout the story.

Wild Sign (Alpha & Omega, #6) by Patricia Briggs

Book - Wild Sign
Author - Patricia Briggs
Date Read - 5/20/23
Rating - 3 Stars
Review - This is one of those series that I like, but don't love. This one started out strong and I was sure it was going to be a 5 star, but it fizzled at the end when the "villain" was exposed. There were a few twists that I thought were pretty cool, but nothing that that would make me want to write home about. The very ending had a bit of a cliffhanger that seems interesting, so that will make me come back just out of curiosity. The next book I will definitely read and not listen to because the narrator had a bit of a weird voice and sounded nothing like I imagined Charles or Bran would sound like.
