Review: As always the book is so much better than the movie but I did enjoy the movie too but hate when they leave things out. Sally and Gillian are opposites as sisters come but they’re always there for each other. Sally’s daughters are the same as the two sisters but wow how things change when good old Gillian comes around asking for help with a problem she caused. I have to say it’s definitely a crazy mess. Especially when Kylie sees the creepy guy outside her window but doesn’t say anything to the others in the house. While Gillian is just torn between the mess she’s caused and the hate she feels for herself. All is a mess between all the characters but in the end I love how all of the characters come together to fix the mess and find how much they love each other.

I really liked this book. The Owens women lived in a small town in Massachusetts for generations. They did not ever change their last name when married so they were all Owens. The towns people were not kind to them. The Owens were accused of causing all things negative that happened to anyone in the town. Gillian and Sally were different and wanted to get away from all the cruelty and rumors of being witches. I just love the old aunts and plant to recommend this book to my niece!

Review: Zoey is off to college in the fall but she plans to spend the summer at the condo nearby which she inherited from her Mother. She hopes to learn more about the Mother who died when she was 8. The condo building houses 4 other condos each with a single person owner; a young man and woman and two older women. And there is a manger who is there to address problems during the day. Each of these people are damaged is some way and living isolated lives until Zoey arrives and changes everything. Great character driven story.

Hahaha I usually see them if my daughter is either watching it or she tells me about it. I’ve noticed a lot of books are actually being made into either movies or shows. I actually say to my kids Oh that was a book and they’re like oh mom you and your books. Hahahaha
I’ve actually come to terms that if I’m watching something I’ll look to see if it’s a book I’ve read or need to read to see how much they’ve left out. LOL
