Dawn Husted (dawnhusted) | 6 comments Wanted to share my dystopian book with the group: Safe by Dawn Husted.

Other than that, what dystopian book have you read lately? Every time I go to B&N, I don't know what to get next. I'm currently reading These Broken Stars, and just finished Matched by Ally Condie.

A few suggestions:
Alas Babylon by Pat Frank
Dust by Charles Pellegrino
The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
The Inverted World by Christopher Priest
Levels by Jim Vuksic (Me)
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
The Stand by Stephen King

Listed in alphabetical order, not by preference.

Dawn Husted (dawnhusted) | 6 comments Awesome! Thanks for the list. I get overwhelmed when I try to search online or in the stores. :-)

Buzz (bignoseduglyguy) | 3 comments Kia Ora from New Zealand, Dawn!

Here's a random selection of stuff I have enjoyed across the spectrum of the dystopian genre over the last year or two.

The Dog Stars by Peter Heller
The Wasteland Saga by Nick Cole
The Down The Path series by Travis Mohrman
Cyberstore by Matthew Mather
The World Made By Hand books by James Howard Kunstler
anything by Jason Gurley

If you're prepared to wander further into the hard sci-fi/first contact genres, Peter Cawdron's books never disappoint.

Shaun (shaun2014) I'm a fan of Hugh Howey, so I always recommend the Wool Omnibus and Sand Omnibus

Lina (theworldoffantasy) Just some of my favourite dystopian series:

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (sure you know that one ;-))
The Maze Runner by James Dashner (awesome!!)
The Selection by Kiera Cass
Divergent by Veronica Roth

I know I read more dystopian but I can't think of them at the moment...
I hope that was a little bit helpful, eventough I'm sure you heard from all of these before ;-)

Roo MacLeod (goodreadscomrooimacleod) What about Children of Men by PD James. 1960's but cracking read. Good film too, with Owen Wilson
