Manjusha Joglekar | 41 comments My request of adding book has remained unheard. Some requests are being considered within few minutes and some are pending from months.

I know there is a huge burden on librarians and they are not paid for this. But then also this is not fair that some requests are waiting for months and some are being considered within few minutes or very few days.

Please do something on this issue.

I know this is not a question but I want to say something on this so I wrote here.

And should delete older one ?

Scott | 8752 comments If you've already made them, you can add a new response to them to "bump" them up to the top, but please don't do this too often. Maybe once a week at most.

Manjusha Joglekar | 41 comments I added one book on 12th February. It's already 2 months passed. Anybody can see some books are added immediately and some are pending for months. So I asked this query. There is nothing like strong opinion or something like that.

And yes, I bumped couple of times.

I'm sorry you're feeling ignored. Volunteers get to work how they wish. Some will do just 1 or 2 edits and pick what is right in front of them. Others are more diligent and go back to find unfulfilled requests.

Manjusha Joglekar | 41 comments Corrine,

Yes i commented this on one thread. But i couldn't see further comments on that thread. I am saying this in general, not to any specific volunteer. If this sounds like that, then pardon me.

Leon McNair | 49 comments I like that this question's been asked, but I have to say that I echo the original poster's feelings of being ignored while others effortlessly, it seems, to have been completed. I don't know why we as users can't individually or be volunteers to add the different book editions on? I envisage myself having to come here often just for an edition request, I'd like to not have to wait so long each time while keeping proper records. I suppose that was a little rant that came out, but I don't mean it against anyone.

Scott | 8752 comments You are welcome to apply to become a librarian if you wish.

Liralen | 8223 comments Librarians are volunteers who do not make policy decisions (such as who can add new books or editions). Please direct policy suggestions to Support: https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...

But to answer your question about why everyone can't add books - up till last June everyone could. & while some people did a great job, a lot of poor quality & copyright violating records were added. This resulted in a lot of behind-the-scenes work for librarians & staff.
