This is likely the wrong place to put this. I was perusing my Giveaways on Librarything. I realized in the last 6 months, I was supposed to receive at least 5 books and have not. I clicked on the "did not receive yet". I did receive a couple others recently. Is this common?
I've had a few LibraryThing books that I won never arrive. If you click on did not receive, they won't count against you.
George R R Martin opened a bookstore. I got this from anothe social media site....https://www.santafenewmexican.com/new...

My brother goes to Santa Fe - he has previously been To Larry McMurtry's bookstore in Archer, Texas. Not sure if that is still open as I heard rumors that he was winding things down. But it was a fairly large store with three buildings.

Due to the Corona Virus Crisis most of CA has officially closed schools and colleges as of last Friday. As a para educator, I am off but on-call til April 3rd. I signed my March paycheck, I am relieved there.
I am curious if other States or even Countries are reacting towards this pandemic.

I am in Washington State (but in a Covid-19 free county). Washington has the highest incidence of positive cases in the US. The governor has closed schools, bars, etc. Restaurants can only serve curbside. Grocery stores and pharmacies still open. Unfortunately, I work for and am a member of a tribe. Because we are sovereign, we are under no obligation to follow these rules. Also, my tribe has decided to keep the casino open as well as concerts, etc. It really causes me concern that the tribe is more concerned about money over our community's public health.
The only case in my part of NC was someone who came for a visit from NY and apparently had symptoms but was not confirmed. I guess that's what we have to look forward to from tourists. They hospitalized him. I think most of the others who have it (35) got it at a Biogen conference in Boston.
Gawd. The San Francisco Bay Area is now at Shelter In Place! "directing everyone to stay inside their homes and away from others as much as possible for the next three weeks as public health officials desperately try to curb the rapid spread of coronavirus across the region.
The directive begins at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and involves San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties — a combined population of more than 6.7 million. It is to stay in place until at least April 7. Three other Bay Area counties — Sonoma, Solano and Napa — were not immediately included."
This is a major pain in the a**. For me (and likely all the other school districts in the area will very likely extend the school year into the Summer.
My son has to finish his senior year of college online and no graduation. Doing what we have to do but sad about graduation. We’ll celebrate for him, but just isn’t the same.
My wife and I flew to Florida 2 days before embarking on a 50th anniversary cruise. Cruise was cancelled 18 hours before embarkation.
My daughter teaches a course at University of Ottawa. She's doing it online now. Working at home for her government job as well.
Restaurants and schools and libraries closed in Oregon, all gatherings of more than ten banned. Not a shred of toilet paper to be seen.

I don't get it either, but I'm starting to eye the leaves of the laurel bush in our yard :-)

lolol... we only have cactus.. just kidding...
TP: on my morning commute last Monday, my radio host confessed she purchased a bidet... I just want a flipping loaf of bread, some more onions and mustard for my corned beef. But, I ain't venturing out to get anything.
What is interesting is, I am using this time off to finish up a few book series - but at a standstill with 2, because everyone ELSE is doing the same thing. Ivy League Uni are offering free classes......
I don't get the tp thing either. Our grocery stores are cleaned out (no pun intended) but luckily I bought in bulk from Amazon in January pre-Coronavirus. We also stocked up on alcohol (the drinking type), as they're planning to close bars here, from what we hear.
